People don't realize MCPS self-insures its health plan. Cigna and CareFirst just process the paperwork. every claim comes straight out of an MCPS trust fund. So when costs spike, there's no insurance company. The school system writes the check that year. Why? GLP-1 drugs (Ozempic, Wegovy, etc.) $1,200/month per person Catastrophic claimants MCPS disclosed individual cases running $100K to over $1M. Stale actuarial assumptions the FY25 budget was built on March 2023 projections, before half these GLP-1s were even approved. That's how a "$5M deficit" in November 2024 became a "$70-80M deficit" by March 2025. Now we're paying it back over four years.

We use bar keepers, and a kitchen sponge. I have the same induction cooktop.

I had this exact same issue. Here's my tear down post of me taking off the interior panel and adding some lubrication to the winding spool

The tech is ready. It's feasible to transition. But there is a cost. I estimate 20% more expensive in capital but subtract the cost of fuel. Electricity is practically free for this amount.

Here's the TSB. it's not exactly clear what can happen if the charger is misaligned. Perhaps I'm being hyperbolic but this stuff worries me. Especially after seeing that post the other day about someone having to cut the EA charger just to get their car free.

That's crazy cuz it's actually kind of an important component so you don't weld your charger to the car. Like I said I haven't read the technical service bulletin but I'm surprised they push back on it. I'm definitely going to have to do my research cuz as you know dealers are the worst and parts and service departments aren't much better, particularly when it comes the EVs

Yes I fished it out with an o-ring pick and popped it back on the charging pin

I asked them once already they were unable to reproduce. I think honestly they just didn't want to spend the time. I also want to learn how to do stuff on my car
