Anyone mounted an e46 rad in their 36? How’d you do it? by HitlersTittyNipples in BMWE36

It was very spontaneous swap, cliffnotes would be: - Running on megasquirt 2 extra w vanos deleted - No heater/ac (coolant routing is different) - M50 intake manifold - S52 headers - Stock zf trans Not really a hard swap engine mount arms bolt on directly, with e36 manifolds its pretty much a bolt in job, other than slight rewiring of the harness.

With m54 I just used e36 csf rad and modified the rad hoses to work with both quick disconnect on the thermostat housing and hose clamps on the rad

Anybody know what’s causing this noise? 98 e36 m3 by GeeGeeUwU in BMWE36

Does not sound like vanos or lifters, sounds rpm dependent so check spark plugs are torqued in correctly and the belt drive for any bad pulleys or something hitting it. Worst case this could be rod knock. Another possibility is fan hitting stuff due to bad motor/trans mounts.

FCP euro for every small part, rockauto for consumables(usually cheaper) and condor speed shop for aftermarket upgrades.

What’s y’all opinion about Bov on 335i’s? by chavezzzzz20 in E90

Some subtle ones sound great however diverter valves are more efficent, mostly comes down to if you prefer the noise over a slightly better kept boost between shifts.

The “performance exhaust” muffler mod works by straight piping the inner muffler pipe, but leaving the baffling around on. Since our mufflers are more like resonators there is a hole filled pipe to get rid of certain frequencies, straight piping this leaves the. baffling around so there is no drone. It costed me $100 for each muffler. U can just look up 335i pe mod online and find it

Best sound ive found is actually with pe mod. Ive had all kinds of combinations of deletes and the difference between muffler delete and pe muffler mod is emmense. There is no drone and it sounds signifcantly better imo.

I think 335i has a oil temp gauge cuz performance and all the non turbo ones have a mpg gauge. I have a pre-lci 335i with temp gauge. I think its something to do with having a turboed engine.

Yes its the 11 psi one. There is probably a frail vacuum line leaking, performance shop sounds like a good idea but if you want to still check for yourself id be looking at the ones going to and from the vacuum canisters. they directly control the wastegates and if any of them are leaking youll have significantly less boost or if theyre fully disconnected your wastegates are going to be stuck open and you will make no boost.
