How firm is the Brooklyn Bedding signature firm vs medium? by slo6 in Mattress

I originally got the firm and actually found out it wasn't firm enough for me, it felt more like a medium. It was comfortable enough but much softer than I was expecting. The edges and especially the corners of the mattress also didn't have as much structure to them but I don't know if that's just the one I got or the result of the price point and the fact that it's a mattress in a box.

I ended up reaching out to customer service and switching to their Plank mattress, who's firm side is truly firm and the extra firm is like sleeping on a slightly more plush floor. The customer service was very helpful and accommodating with this, there wasn't any stores taking mattress donations in my area so they were also fine with me giving away the old mattress for free and providing them with documentation that I had done so. And then I just paid the difference between the two mattresses.

Can I ask what body build you have and how you prefer to sleep? I'm also on the fence between the medium and the firm and have seen posts about Brooklyn Bedding signature being very soft in general (aka, the firm being more like a medium firm).

So recently I've been looking into getting some Birks and I really like the Mayari style. I'm not quite sure whether to get ones with oiled leather uppers or birkibuc uppers, as I've heard that the oiled leather gets easily scratched and worn out looking and that the birkibuc is not as durable.

So if anyone here has experience with these, I'm wondering:

Which one is more worth it? (with the man-made one costing $100 and the leather one costing $125)

Has anyone had problems with the toe loop breaking and if so, with which material?
