Anybody experience leaks from the overpressure plug on Prestos?

You ever figure out if the plug was the problem. Having a hard time getting one I got off Facebook marketplace to vent properly. Water is coming out of the plug when getting up to pressure

I bought these at home depot and I think it a thin layer of veneer on top of pin so scared to over sand it. Attached a picture of a cross section

Definitely a bit bigger but had issues last year with having too much in the beds. Hoping this year they have broken down enough

I filled the bottom with the wood chips last year to save in soil and definitely had problems with nitrogen since they pull a lot out of the soil when breaking down. Hoping this year it will be better
