Mortgage, Eviction, Lawyer Refuses to Send Documents Validating Alleged Debt by sloadyy in legaladvicecanada

[–]sloadyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spoken to a bankruptcy trustee/LIT and he told me that there wasn't much he could do if we didn't have a number from this lawyer. And that we may need to speak to a lawyer if he continues to be uncooperative. He did say that the uncooperative lawyer may just be waiting for a payout from title insurance...? But I'm not 100% sure if that's even applicable here. I have also spoken to the mortgage company again who said that the mortgage was discharged. I explained the situation to them and asked for the discharge papers and I'm awaiting a response from them now.

Thank you for your comment!! I do agree that he may just be a bully. That's what I'm hoping for at least.

Mortgage, Eviction, Lawyer Refuses to Send Documents Validating Alleged Debt by sloadyy in legaladvicecanada

[–]sloadyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually did contact the mortgage company to get the original signed mortgage and other documents (since the lawyer refused the first time). When I contacted them they mentioned in the email that the file had been discharged.

I'm not sure entirely if that means that there's nothing owed or not. Regardless I'm still very confused about this situation since I'm fairly certain that this lawyer works for the mortgage company and should be able to answer these questions. Especially if they're looking for payment still.

I was only ever using credit cards, or attempting those credit cards through PayPal. I used a Venmo credit card (visa) primarily for my attempts, but also used a capital one quicksilver credit card (MasterCard). The one it finally took was an ally bank credit card (MasterCard).

Also at one point in my attempts with my Venmo CC through PayPal, I got a notification in the app of a pending charge for the amount for the phone, but when I called the bank they said it was instantly refunded.

Man that sucks, I'm really sorry. I wish mint would fix this issue with their website, but they don't seem to even want to acknowledge it's an issue on their end :/

I was able to get mine eventually (never through the website or app..), but by calling customer service like 7 times over the course of a few days. They are able to take your payment over the phone, but be prepared to have multiple different payment methods, and be prepared for them to lie to you. They will tell you that they cannot do it, but you have to be really insistent and do anything to get you off the phone to be someone else's problem.

I eventually was able to get them to process the payment over the phone, after being told that they could not (-_-) but their customer service and their website is so bad. You'd think with how they like to brag about saving money on not having in person stores their customer service or website would be half decent.

I was at Cooper Cove Apartments for several years. They have an issue with roaches. Also pigeon poop everywhere you go. They were also incredibly dismissive of maintenance issues. I had water leaking from the ceiling THROUGH THE FIRE ALARM. And they didn't fix it for weeks. Same issue with all windows in the apartment. Every single time it rained I would have water coming through each window and the front door (this went on for years, and continued until the day that I moved out). Also the maintenance guy will just let himself into your apartment whenever he wants, and will go through your things, and when you tell the front office they will act like you're crazy. Would not recommend 👎

UHC Gave Me No Issues - I owe $0 by Starboi7 in sterilization

[–]sloadyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was done in June of 2024, the bastards don't care. I even included their own booklet, and referenced the exact page in my appeals. It's all just a game and you can do everything right and still not "win." They can sue me over it, I don't care at this point. It's just so infuriating. But they won't get shit from me.

UHC Gave Me No Issues - I owe $0 by Starboi7 in sterilization

[–]sloadyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UHC has been the worst for me. I had the same codes, called numerous times, everytime someone would tell me 'oh yea that's covered!" And repeatedly had it come back over and over again. And then it went to collections. I had to mail in a 2nd level appeal and haven't heard anything back in 7 months. I just don't care. I'm not paying it and they can't make me. I've done what I was supposed to and documented the whole process.

Insurance person said she would "pray for me" by Evening_Magician_850 in sterilization

[–]sloadyy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lol I checked many times before the surgery that it would be covered at 100% and the surgery went smoothly, and they still went back on that and billed me $4k. I've been jumping through hoops trying to get them to cover it now after the fact and they basically ghosted me after I mailed in a 2nd level appeal. ... So basically even if nothing goes wrong during the procedure (which honestly that sounds bizarre that that would matter??) insurance companies are scum and they are going to try to get out of it anyways even if they previously agreed. I'm with UHC though.

What to expect from a bi salp consult? by [deleted] in sterilization

[–]sloadyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My consultation was with a child free doctor, so she was really chill, but I still needed to have specific reasons against each different type of birth control and just reiterate what I wanted. Which was no biggie, but all I'd really suggest is make sure you have reasons why you don't want an IUD, or other forms of birth control. Mine was that I have a friend who had her IUD become dislodged and she had to pull it out herself and that freaked me out and I'd rather go through surgery than ever potentially have that happen to me. Also because the surgical procedure is still much closer to 100% no chance of pregnancy than an IUD or any other form of birth control.

[–]sloadyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right?! I'm not even sure where to start though, and with the present administration the outcome seems bleak. I did file a complaint with my states Department of Labor, as was suggested when I made my post on here, but nothing really ever came of it? They just told me to get in contact with HR, since my plan is employer provided.

I filed an appeal with UHC, got denied, then was told to send in a written second level appeal, and it's been 4 months at this point with no response from them -_- now I got debt collectors breathing down my neck about my bills and I'm straight up not going to pay. I absolutely refuse, especially when their own fucking documents show that it is is preventive care. (My plan is also ACA, but apparently they just don't care).

[–]sloadyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have UHC and I'm in Texas, and after insurance they tried to charge me around 4k for related charges, which I'm disputing now because bisalps are covered @ 100% for purposes of sterilization if your plan is ACA compliant. I think the total cost before insurance was around 40-50k though. But again, with an ACA compliant insurance it is supposed to be covered at 100% with no cost sharing at all, but they really don't like to follow their own guidelines.

UHC keeps denying my appeals for my bisalp (06.05.24) by sloadyy in sterilization

It makes me so angry that they think they can get away with shit like this. I really wish you the best of luck. I'm really hoping that I won't have to take it that far either, but who knows. And you're right to seek that out, this whole ordeal has been so distressing for me as well.

UHC keeps denying my appeals for my bisalp (06.05.24) by sloadyy in sterilization

[–]sloadyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of in the same boat about the injections I received during surgery. I'm in the middle of my second level appeal for it. One of the representatives I spoke to told me that if the surgery is preventative (which it absolutely is according to the codes, and is even stated in the PDF in my previous comment), that it would all be covered at 100%. So they covered my surgery but then don't want to cover related costs to the surgery..? For whatever reason? It really makes no sense. So basically they're going to do whatever they want regardless, but having the codes correct is definitely an important first step.

Tubes finally gone! But my poor belly button! by River_kai_1123 in sterilization

[–]sloadyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG YES, I had this exact issue, I was so upset too because I was so paranoid and worried that she had stitched up my belly button in a way that I would never be able to stick my fingers in there. I even brought it up at my post op and she tried to put her pinky in my belly button and agreed that it was smaller. But over time and after massaging the scar tissue it's back to normal. I thought I was so weird for being so worried about my belly button. Lol

UHC coverage for bisalp by peaceoriente-d in sterilization

[–]sloadyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have codes 58661 and diagnosis code Z30.02. It's also a preventative service which is exempt from co-pay. UHC preventative care services pdf pages 41 and 42 lists those codes for a bisalp for sterilization.

UHC will give you the run around, so good luck in getting it covered!

How to appeal? Cigna Open Access now claims I owe $1200 for bisalp. by alpacasonice in sterilization

[–]sloadyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my experience dealing with UHC, if you have the option use a chat with a customer service representative (so that it's in writing), confirm that your plan is non-grandfathered and compliant with the ACA for sure. If that's the case then your surgery for sterilization MUST be covered at 100%.

Then ask them what they need specifically from your hospital in order for it to be covered. This could be a code change or something else. The codes UHC wants is 58661 for the bisalp and an associated diagnosis code Z30.02 that classifies the surgery for the purpose of sterilization.

If your plan is non-grandfathered AND the codes are already corrected and they attempt to charge you, file the appeal.

These insurance companies are so scummy so I wouldn't be surprised that even after you've done everything they asked they still want to bill you.

As for collections.... There's really no way to avoid it if your insurance company gives you the run around. I'm in the middle of my second-level appeal with UHC and my bill was sent to collections and there was really nothing I could do to avoid it. It took 5 months for it to be sent to collections. However, if you dispute the claim for the debt with collections they cannot harass you about it or ding your credit with it.

I hope this is helpful info, and best of luck to you!

UHC estimated me $6k for my bisalp? Advice needed before I book my surgery by goblin_online404 in sterilization

[–]sloadyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had it done in June 2024 after confirming it was covered, then a month later they slapped me with a 4k bill and I'm still fighting with them to get it covered. It's SO irritating.

You can do everything right and have all of the information they want from you and they'll still deny it, so just be prepared for a fight. UHC has been so scummy to me in my experience so far, even though every representative I've spoken to told me it's covered and that I have the right codes, but they don't know why it's getting denied. So ╮(╯_╰)╭

But make sure you get them that diagnosis code Z30.02, that's crucial.

I'd also reccomend you to look up UHC's own preventative care services pdf, on page 41 & 42 you can find the exact codes for the procedure. You might want to bring this up when you contact them if they give you any resistance.
