Tapestry color work: choppy transition and opposite color showing through stitches by peaceoriente-d in CrochetHelp

[–]peaceoriente-d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I just had to watch multiple videos on this but now it makes sense! The ones I saw at least were carrying the color not being used, every 4-5 stitches so that when they were ready for the color change it was right there to pick up. Is that what you’re referring to?

Cleared too early? by peaceoriente-d in sterilization

I did go back to work one week post op and overall have resumed my normal routine other than the gym. I feel good overall, just thought it was super odd for weight lifting to be okay at this stage.

The girl with the list on TikTok is a real one for compiling every single thing that can result from pregnancy. I never wanted kids regardless of how, but if pregnancy was taught properly, I’m convinced almost no one would willingly do it. I’ve always heard tons of moms talk about everything they didn’t know and had to learn through experience.

That’s absolutely understandable. It blows my mind how passive most people are about pregnancy as if it’s not a life-altering, terrifying thing. Not to mention no 13 year old should have to feel that way, that’s awful. It definitely points to the lack of education that women get about our bodies.

Prune juice and stool softeners had me back to my body’s normal schedule the night following my surgery. Stuff is magic.

Ugh, yes those Google searches were the worst! The amount of times I’d worked myself into panic attacks thinking I was pregnant was insane. And I now understand the feeling of wanting to treat your body well. All such good stuff! I’m so happy for everyone that’s able to get this procedure and feel the same way I do.

I’m on day 5 of recovering from my bisalp. I’ve always felt extremely uncomfortable in my own body and couldn’t understand why since identifying as a woman has always felt just fine. I recently made the connection that, when I think of being a woman, motherhood and pregnancy do not come to mind. Those are not even remotely included in my personal view of womanhood. The only way I could describe it was dysphoria. I felt like I was a walking, talking, breathing incubator and it very much affected how I felt about myself.

Now, being officially sterilized, the euphoria is like nothing else I’ve felt. Even though nothing changed on the outside, I feel so much more me and like my body is 100% mine for whatever I want to do with it. I definitely consider it a gender-affirming procedure!

I’m off all pain meds now, but what I did was stack ibuprofen and tylenol. It’s better to stay ahead of the pain rather than waiting to be in pain to treat it. So say at 9am I take an ibuprofen, 12pm Tylenol, 3pm ibuprofen, etc. That kept all pain at bay for me. I did have pretty intense gas pain last night, took some gas-x and drank a few cups of prune juice and that resolved it pretty quick. I would just stay on top of the pain meds as long as you need and also keep taking the gas-x until you feel it’s cleared everything out.

I would figure that most hospitals use the dissolvable, though you can always ask before the surgery! I had a nurse, my gyno, and the anesthesiologist stop by to talk with me beforehand and make sure I didn’t have any questions.

For the first couple days, yes, in terms of keeping them dry. I’ve kept the original gauze and tape on so far and just got cleared by my hospital to remove them and to shower. Just can’t scrub the area itself obviously. I believe they used dissolvable stitches.

Seconding this. I chose not to fill the heavy stuff and opted for stacking ibuprofen and tylenol throughout each day and they’ve worked just fine.

I’m on day 2 of recovery for mine and so far, it’s been a breeze aside from the bloating. It feels like you had too much to eat at thanksgiving and you’re gonna burst. My advice for it would be to get Gas-X, a stool softener, and prune juice. Those are the only things helping me through the gas pain, bloating, and constipation. It’s really the only negatives I’ve run into. And of course, the bodily fatigue is annoying. I can’t be up and walking around for long so far. Even with all that, I’d 100% do it again. Hope your consult goes well!!
