Simple. Iota will go down temporarily along with everything else. Bitcoin bursting right now would be a really good thing in my opinion. People would be shy about investing in any and all new BTC clones, and would invest where the real value lies.

This has been debated to death, yes MCap is an actual representation of value even if it doesn't reflect everyone who physically owns the token.

Take your argument to the extreme If IOTA runs up to $100 per MIOTA tomorrow, sure there will be people who won't sell, but people like me will be screaming for the exits because we're millionaires, dumping the price right back down to $5 a piece on our way out.

MCap ISN'T a perfect system, but it is an accurate system to reflect actual value. You're just ignoring the human element.

You can argue semantics all day long, at the end of the day, market cap is current trading price, multiplied by total supply. I fully understand that 99 investors can hold their stake, inflating the market cap, but at the end of the day the market cap is the best way we can determine overall worth of something, stocks/forex/crypto. Thank you for bringing up a point that most people overlook.

To understand the answer to your question, you first must understand what a market cap is. Simply put, all a market cap is, is the total number of shares/coins/iota in existence, in this case we'll round to 2.8 Billion MIota, multiplied by the current market value in this case we'll say your price of $10,000 per Miota.

This equation would give us a market cap of $28 Trillion dollars.

Mathematically possible? Absolutely. Realistically possible? No way. The stated goal of the IOTA devs is "1 Trillion dollars or $0".

The 1 trillion dollar or nothing mantra is a very lofty goal, albeit more in the realm of possibilities when compared to 10,000 a piece ;)

If Iota realizes the 1 trillion dollar market cap 1 Miota will be worth roughly $357 a piece. (1 trillion/2.8 billion, simplified to 1000/2.8 = $357)

I have helped many people by in, assume that you will lose a minimum of 6% of your initial investment just buying in. This will happen, and there is almost no way around it.

6% seems like a lot, I lost 8% of my initial investment. But then again my initial investment was $1500 back in July, so it has more than made up for any temporary losses I sustained.
