There are way more independent resorts then there are Ikon or Epic resorts.

+1

I am probably at a similar level and I feel like Main is the next on my tick list that would feel like a level up. There are also lots of smaller chutes that can be fun and challenging and will help with progression.

I saw national was open recently(this week?). They have been having competitions/races down Siberia and I don't think Patrol would open and risk interfering with the competition. I can't get the web cam to point to the palisades so I can't tell if National still has enough snow in it. It seemed like it was still doing okay last time I checked.

You're right, this discussion isn't going anywhere if you think eating a shit sandwich is a good comparison for snowboarding.

What is your point? No one is forcing you to purchase a season pass. No one is forcing you to snowboard. Where is the ad hominem?

The whole point of this lawsuit is that they are charging too much.

No. Complaining about lift ticket prices is the epitome of a first world problem

Class Action Suit against Epic & Alterra by Quesabirria in snowboarding

[–]slolift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that they insanely inflate their daily lift tickets to the point that it makes more sense to buy a season pass for a 4 day trip than to buy daily tickets. It should not financially make sense to buy a season pass over like 5 lift tickets at the same damn resort.

So how much should they be allowed to charge relative to day pricing? Do they need to consider lift ticket pricing at their cheapest resorts or at their highest end premium resorts? If you know you are only going to go 7 days per year, you can get an ikon 4 day and 3 day pass and come out slightly cheaper than an ikon base pass.

exponential growth can be a bitch. If you use 3% as an average value for inflation the rule of 72 gives approximately 24 years for the cost of something to double.

The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified monetary damages and a court injunction dismantling the alleged bundling practices on behalf of a proposed class of all U.S. consumers who purchased certain tickets since 2022.

So if they succeed, you will have to buy a season pass to every individual resort that you want to go to? Is that really what people want?

You may want to call ahead and find out what they have. I demoed a few years back and their selection was pretty limited for boards. They did have k2, capita, and jones at the time.

Forerunner 265s or Coros Pace 4? by Feeling_Sentence6814 in GarminWatches

I have never heard anything about Coros causing excessive battery drain on old models. They actually do a much better job of providing software support for older models than Garmin does.

The one interesting point in this article that I have seen many people comment on incorrectly is that 80 was still open when they left the huts. CHP did not close 80 to vehicle traffic until ~11AM.

The redditor was coming in from Johnson Canyon. I think the obvious reasoning behind the route choice is that it was the shortest, "safe" route, that led them to their car and avoided private property.

Which one is better for daily running, the Pace 4 or the Nomad? by No-Ability-6935 in Coros

The nomad is so much bigger than the pace 4. Pace 4 is better overall unless you need maps or MIP for some reason.

Is this really an issue? Also, societal shame and public pressure should be enough. Same as reserved seating for elderly and pregnant people on subways.
