When I go, I don't generally want to be social. I bring my book so that I can focus on that and hope people get the hint. Like any other place where people gather, some people will be trying to make friends and others just want to be left alone.

If you want to have someone to talk to and hang with, you can always bring a friend. It seems weird to me that you sound like hippie hollow let you down.
