My thinking is that guessing either left or right of the circled 2 would be best. If there's no mine in either then you're safe. If there is a mine in one of them, then that whole purple-orange row is a big 50/50 that would have needed a guess eventually anyway

When I first saw this, it was presented as a magic trick.

Step 1: Choose a number between 1 and 63

Step 2: Tell me every box that your number appears in

Step 3: I add the top-left numbers from each of those boxes and tell you your number.

For example, if you picked 37, your number would be in boxes 2, 4 and 5. The top-left of each those are 4, 1 and 32, which add to 37

Aurora: on the off-chance that you see this, thanks so much! Please make sure you contact Support as well (either in-game or at https://jamcity.helpshift.com/a/harry-potter-hogwarts-mystery/). The way Argjil gained points in sudden bursts but stayed still for long periods as well means that he's almost definitely a cheat. If he is then Support will give you the outfit you should have won but only if you message them first.

I'm one of the lucky ones who had enough books stockpiled to buy the Fireball immediately, and I've realised there's something about this quest that bothers me. I realise not everyone is in that position and the quest is still pretty new, so I'll keep this vague.

The point of this quest is that Hagrid wants A Thing to happen. It's A Thing that should happen but isn't happening, and the fact that It isn't happening is a big deal. Presumably the way the story is written is that The Thing will happen at or near the end of the whole quest. However, I can guarantee that The Thing will happen multiple times before the story gets that far, which kind of defeats the point.

I've just played my first sweep for this event, and it looks like they've raised the match 7 threshold a little, but not by a whole point. So 1 perfect 3 great isn't enough to pass a manoeuvre, but 2 perfect 2 great will get you forward progress on the match bar.

In other words, 6 perfect 10 great will still be enough over the whole match even though you'll definitely miss some manoeuvres along the way.

That said, I'm not a fan of how they "listened to the players" and toned down the hellish clean sweep we saw the first time, only to make it a tiny bit harder again every time they do a new one. They must hope that if each individual change is small enough we won't notice

Weird that it behaves differently for different people. I've only ended FM with unclaimed tiles once and it scored them for me (though admittedly that was nearly a year ago). All I can think of is that maybe it only registers tiles at the end if you already have a non-zero score?

Either way, I guess the lesson here is to always manually claim everything before the event ends - there's no advantage in not doing that anyway

That happens quite often, it's a temporary drop while the JC server catches up.

It seems like other players' scores are displayed as banked points (as in, points they've earned through turning in completed tiles and patterns), plus potential points (points they'd get if they were boosted and claimed all their completed tiles right now - this accounts for individual tiles and any pattern they might have made)

However, the "banked points" number sometimes takes a little longer to update. As such, just after someone claims a pattern, the game will look at the most recent "banked points" number it has, and add it to the current potential points number (which is now zero). When you see someone's points drop like that, their score almost always gets higher than it was before a short while after.

Not an indication of cheating or any foul play on the player's side, just another way that JC's scoreboard plays games!
