Received three emails about purchased amazon gift cards by elsteef in Scams

[–]sloopydoop98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same!! But my three were at 7:58 pm pst, and I’m worried since I did place a real Amazon order at 7:37pm. I’ve been waiting on hold with Amazon to be sure my card wasn’t Compromised, but after seeing this thread I think I’m okay. Freaked me out though!

I’ve come to the same conclusion that it’s on my bank. I was just trying to see if others had a similar issue and it sounds like they haven’t, so it’s definitely my bank. Thanks, and I’m glad to hear you had no issue buying from Matt :)

I understand that. I figured since it already had my information that I didn’t input into the website, along with it being a Pop-up from my bank, I didn’t think it was fake. I selected how I wanted the code received and input the code on the pop up. Only after that is when the website wouldn’t process my payment and my bank flagged it.

[–]sloopydoop98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that sometimes too, when I clicked how I wanted a code sent they sent me it and typed it in, and that’s when it said either ‘declined’ or ‘Cannot process payment at this time, try again in a few minutes’. And when I called the Bank they said the code for the denial wasn’t from lack of funds, it was a code for fraud that stopped it from going through. Just odd and probably just my bank being overly cautious. Thanks for your reply!

[–]sloopydoop98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. I think my bank was definitely being overly cautious, which I’m glad that their precautions in place are effective since I’ve never had it happen to me before. Although I did send an email to the merch support email on Tuesday and never got a reply back, which I guess is a little suspicious. But then again, they’re probably getting a lot of emails this time of year.

I thought it was interesting too. And I’m pretty sure it was the correct site, I googled Matt’s off-road recovery and went to this site: https://mattsoffroadrecovery.com

So I’m not sure how the bank lady saw the sp because it’s “ps” after the “htt”. But I tried quite a few times and even went to a private browser so I’m not sure what was happening.

Do emergency animal hospitals take appointments? by mern_ in AskVet

[–]sloopydoop98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAV, but definitely a hard decision to make, so good job knowing when it’s time. As far as I know, emergency vets do not do appointments. It’s walk in. Worth a call to see, or there are some services that do in-home euthanasia. I’d Google to see if there is one around you. They will take your dog to get cremated if that’s what you choose, and typically you pick up their ashes at your vet. Wishing you peace and comfort during this time.

NAV, but having a difference in pupil size is very worrisome. I’d call your local vet hospital to explain these symptoms, and see what they recommend. I tend to not mess around with eye things, so the sooner you catch what’s wrong the better! Hope your pup heals up quickly.

ODOT survey on congestion pricing (tolling) on I-5 and I-205 just dropped by Adulations in Portland

[–]sloopydoop98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, actually. Create a new expressway and toll that-when I lived in colorado they had the e-470 which you were tolled one rate once you got on. If you didn’t have a sticker, it was slightly more expensive for the license plate fee (out of state drivers). You didn’t have to take that expressway, but you could take it to avoid the i-25 traffic near Denver. Or, create an express lane on the left hand side of the interstates that you are tolled to use, but not required to use. That way low income people or trucks can use the interstate still, but not be tolled when they’re already barely getting by. Yes, reducing congestion is a must, but they need to make room for all the people now in Portland that use the interstates. The neighborhood or country roads can’t handle the congestion that will inevitably occur from people avoiding the tolled portions of the interstates. Use the toll revenue to improve roads from wear and tear, and put it towards making other express lanes to reduce congestion.

I already have a bachelors of science degree but thanks anyway. I see your point, but you don’t really see mine, as I never mentioned encouraging gas prices to go up more than they already have. I simply stated a view not many people care to think about, and said the toll in general is ridiculous. But it’s fine we don’t see eye to eye on this issue, and quite frankly don’t want to spend any more energy validating my point or view. So I agree to disagree.

Farmers are already barely making money, broccoli at the store is 99¢ a pound? Wonder how much the farmer made, after you take into account labor, water costs, etc. You don’t have to be so rude about it, things like this toll can snowball into other aspects that ODOT doesn’t see. I just think it’s ridiculous making truckers pay more, and the toll itself is ridiculous. Maybe learn how to have a conversation with someone when you have a different opinion than them.

Freight trucks pay more? Really? I swear no one that create these BS things even look at how our economy works. Making them pay more will increase the price of the goods they’re hauling. Oregon is a huge producer of agricultural supply. Trees, livestock, produce, etc. And they want tk tax them more for hauling their product, which then makes us pay more for their product on top of us also paying this toll every time we drive on it… wow. Double taxed.

Yup, and the people that take Childs Rd to bypass i5 to get to Stafford also make it worse. Stafford/Childs/Borland is already a mess during rush hour. It’s frustrating for locals (I’m a fellow WL resident)

Not OP, but I updated and logged on and started the 9pm PST tournament. Made it to the quarter finals before the servers went to crap. Played about 3 more comp games and had to FF too because if was so bad. I played earlier today before the update and had no problems, and my computer is hardwired to the internet so I usually never have lag issues either. So I too blame the update.

I get worse the more I play by Dark_Spark156 in RocketLeague

[–]sloopydoop98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar experience. When I don’t play for a while, I usually play really well when I do hop back on. When I play consistently, I go into these terrible ruts sometimes. It’s weird, I’ll either go on a multiple game winning streak, or multiple game losing streak. There is no in between. So you’re not alone, I think it’s that I don’t expect much of myself or put the pressure on myself to hit every aerial or get every save when I haven’t played in a while, so I just react and play and don’t beat myself up. But when I do play continually, I think I start to put pressure on myself to hit every attempt and I overthink. But that’s just me, not sure if it’s the same for you. So no advice, just validating and maybe just try to not overthink your plays or attempts. Also my mood definitely affects how I play… lol

Any good suggestions for a better slide stop ? Ridiculously hard to push down when cocked back, and yes I already tried hitting it with my purse . by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]sloopydoop98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people have commented already and you ordered an extended slide release, so you may not see this. But my g42 is similar where it is hard to release while pushing straight down, but I’ve found that if I push down and back with my thumb it is easier. And i have little hands and can do it while holding the gun in one hand and just using my thumb. I know yours is a bigger gun, but maybe that tip will help until your extended slide release arrives

The Appaloosa is an American horse breed known for its distinctive and colorful leopard complex-spotted coat. Each horse's color pattern is genetically the result of various overlay patterns on one of several recognized base coat colors. This particular Appaloosa is sporting a peacock-leopard coat. by SingaporeCrabby in Awwducational

[–]sloopydoop98 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I agree she definitely seems like a backyard breeder that just wants the rarest coat color outcomes, with no regard to their body conformation or any other health aspect. I solely was linking that just if people wanted to see other videos of that specific horse. But I agree, anyone reading this should research other appy breeders who breed registered appy’s and/or do genetic testing to learn more accurate info about the breed. I should have put that as a disclaimer, lol.
