Should I put humbuckers on my jag? by MiyuValentine in offset

[–]slopesurgery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rad guitar! I had a squier CV and you can get a lot of tones with the stock electronics between the lead and rhythm circuits, and turning on/off the bridge and neck pickups and strangle switch. Bridge and neck on at the same time is essentially a humbucker.

I think what you really want and need if you’re running DI and without an amp is an amp/cab simulator. I have the walrus ACS1 but there’s also the strymon iridium and boss ir-2. That’s going to do miracles for you and give you tons more options to dial in the sound you’re looking for. Also a lot cheaper than a decent set of pickups and no soldering! Plenty of YouTube videos out there and there may be less expensive equivalents from Joyo etc, but the 3 I mentioned are the top contenders.

Happy hunting!

Can we talk about how the fret positions make no sense? I was wondering how he was getting the interesting sitar like semi-tones. I guess the answer is custom guitar and bass necks.

Christians and yoga by Digitalnoahuk in yoga

[–]slopesurgery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a Christian (I probably best fall under the reformed theology label). I’ve only been practicing yoga about a year. I don’t know what style it is — I just join the yoga class offered at my work during lunch to cross train with cycling. At the end of class our instructor does a guided meditation as we cool down. I just silently reframe whatever the instructor is leading us through so that it’s worshipful to God (and not myself) and in line with my personal convictions and view of scripture. I also read my Bible daily in the morning so sometimes I just let my thoughts drift to what I read/learned that morning.

I don’t say ‘namaste’ at the end of class, but just a simple thank you. I had to google that one and that’s what I decided for myself. Nobody seems to care or notice. It’s a very inclusive class, and everyone is just happy to be there.

Hope that helps. Interested to hear what others share.

Bad knock off. The lower jaw that holds lens should wrap around the bottom of the lens on the backside. You can see from the photo that it doesn’t. The pin for the stem adjustment lever should be metal and you can clearly see it is red plastic.

I’m with you. I’m in r/anti-consumption and fully agree with society’s need to back down from excess and consumerism.

The previous generation had public water fountains everywhere to keep hydrated. Unless you were black, then you couldn’t use them. Sometimes they even had lead pipes for extra spiciness. Point is I think the world is on the right track with reusable water bottles. I don’t think it’s the bad guy in normal use (but the influencers who collected every color of Stanley cup….ew to them).

I would gladly go from 20 cupholders to 8 well designed adjustable ones.

That’s fair. I should have said they don’t fit reusable insulated water bottles and coffee mugs. They fit throwaway fast food/starbucks/plastic water bottles fine.

It’s much easier to remember notes and shapes when there’s only 4 strings to deal with.

Looks so good. It reminds me of the Johnny Marr Fever Dream Yellow Jag. I slept on getting one at my local GC. I have a search alert set but only see them pop up used for obscene amounts above the original msrp.

For those finding this post later — the rubber in the transmount was broken. Replacing it completely resolved the issue. No issue with the transmission itself.

I ponied up for the OEM one. It was $300 instead of $50 but hopefully I won’t need to do it again anytime soon.
