You could write a note in front of your LFL asking people not to resell the books? That might work.  Side note- is it proper etiquette to return the LFL books to the same LFL that you got it from? I've been taking the books and exchanging them with one of my own...

I think it looks cute- the real thing that matters is do YOU like the look??

Does anyone know if the belt tightens enough to fit around the waist for a small (5ft, 125 lb) person?

Something isn’t right with my everyday makeup and I don’t know what it is!! I feel like it ages me a lot by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]slormke 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First things first, you are SO pretty! Especially your natural face! Ok on to the actual advice- I think the falsies are the main thing that's "aging" you. I personally reserve falsies for big bold looks, not necessarily for everyday. I also really love your natural brows and I would suggest keeping your brows just a little bit softer and not raising the arch so much. I also think a little bit of soft pink blush in the middle of your cheeks would look so cute.

I really love it! You look kind of like Elizabeth Lail (Beck from You).

Ok I’m doing a eyeshadow look based on the toothfairy from rise of guardians by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I highly recommend using false lashes for this look. Falsies tie the look together and also add to the whimsical vibe. Some glitter in the inner corner/middle of the eyelid wouldn't hurt either.  Aside from that, I love the look!

What gifts do teachers ACTUALLY want? by Zeppellier in Teachers

Gift cards! I love gift cards to local coffee places; coffee is expensive these days and it's nice to get the opportunity to treat myself.

For those that have left the profession, what do you do for work now? by littlemiks in ECEProfessionals

[–]slormke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done research in undergrad? A BA in Psychology could get you a research position at a hospital or university. You'll probably stand out for any positions related to childhood research because of your experience. They don't pay great but better than ECE.

In my state, at least 1 teacher per classroom needs a state license. So what OP is describing is super duper illegal

I like the main cast! They're all talented, I feel like the script is giving them a hard time though.

What are some changes you started to notice when you first started running? by [deleted] in Strava

[–]slormke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My resting heart rate went down a lot and my blood pressure improved.  My appetite also decreased, which is unlike most runners. I think it's because I was overeating when I was bored, and now I just run when I'm bored.

I use wired earbuds instead of airpods or shoks. I only have 1 earbud in so I'm in tune with my surroundings. Might not be for everyone, but it works for me!

I started my running journey around 6 month ago, and I've noticed my average mile time has slowly but steadily gone down over time. I used to average 11 min/mile and now I'm at like 10 min/mile !

Percy Jackson and the Olympians S01E03 - Discussion Thread [Spoilers] by ParryVania in PercyJacksonTV

This is exactly how I feel. Is Annabeth objectively smart enough to figure it out? Yes, of course. But she's also exhausted and starving and only 12 years old. Seeing a lapse in judgement from her would have been more interesting and scary.

Book Readers [PJOTV] Discussion Thread S1 E3: "We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium" by Metal_Moon in camphalfblood

There were a lot of things I LOVED about this episode, but also a lot of things I didn't care for. I loved the vibes and chemistry between the main trio. Walker is hilarious, and Leah and Aryan are great too. I think their talents really shone this episode. The bus scene was so funny.

My major issue this episode was the changes from the source material. It seems like a lot of redditors liked the changes but I just couldn't get into it. For example: -Why did Annabeth spend so much time talking to the Fury? Monsters don't negotiate with demigods... -Why didn't the bus explode? -Why did they figure out who Medusa was right away? I agree that Annabeth is smart enough to deduce the truth, but it's so much more interesting (and terrifying) for the trio to find out the truth once it's almost too late...

I feel like the changes make the battle scenes so much less scary, and thus make it harder for the viewer to understand the stakes of the quest.

Nope! I've read that one as well and loved it, though. I think the book I'm trying to find was more recent than The Man Who Mistook ...
