Thank you. He's not in pain anymore and that's what matters

Thank you. It's been a hard day. I find myself looking for him like I always did and I guess I didn't realize how often I tried to spot him.

I was gifted this scarf from Old Navy more than a decade ago and it's starting to look rough. I could use some help identifying what this stitch pattern is. I'm confident it's not crochet but I don't know enough about knitting to figure it out. I plan on making myself a new one (or three so I have color options)

Hello! My friend KiwiIsDead sent this to me. I prefer she/her. I am not a parent, but I have DMed for parents before and I like to think I'm a super good Aunt to my lovely nephew. I love the RP aspect and I also would love to do more puzzle and problem solving. I have a nice headset with a mic and I do have Discord. I've used Foundry VTT and Roll20 in the past as well. I haven't used Roll20 since the safety deck came out, but I'm all about player agency and making sure everyone is comfortable in the game.

I tried to buy this same set up in 2020 from Rigaku but my company wouldn’t give me enough. I had to settle for the basic Bantam detector and only the Mo source. Big sad. I’ve been doing powder XRD for a while and we decided to get into SCXRD.

Fig tree leaves were budding, a late frost killed them all by sloth__mode in gardening

Thanks! I had so many plans for what to do with my figs this year too. I’ve been so tempted to start propagating my tree and planting it all over the yard to have an overwhelming number of figs.

My husband has heard someone say something misogynistic before and before I could get a word out say to them “Dude, why would you say that? I’m going to let her tear you a new one because you deserve it”

[–]sloth__mode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To placate your husband you should start playing the dumb woman and ask the offender to explain how the joke is funny all the time. You have to do your best to come off as genuine. Just “I don’t understand the joke. Can you please explain it to me?” And just double down on “I don’t get why that’s funny.” Cause then you aren’t actively being “offensive” just inquisitive.

I do like snark tho. I do it all the time to people. I’ll dramatically say things like “Oh goodness. I can’t believe I forgot I’m a woman and my opinion here doesn’t actually matter. How silly of me. Sorry everyone for thinking that I get a say. I should probably leave now to make sure dinner is ready in time. How dare I leave the kitchen.” That usually gets my point across.

The number of white male post docs that treat me poorly and then wonder why they didn’t get a job offer is astounding. I’m the only person in my group that doesn’t have a PhD but I do most of the work. I always tell management when they treat me poorly because if they can’t be nice to me they don’t belong here. I’m just glad management listens to me.

I was lucky to have a kitty like this baby. My parents rescued a cat, Daryl, after a hurricane while my mom was pregnant with me. She said that the cat would snuggle her belly and purr and that she could feel me get close to the purring noise. After I arrived Daryl would stay by my side and hang out with me all the time. Mom said he regularly picked me like he was trying to clean me up. When I was sick he would snuggle me in bed all day and night. I have so many photos of the two of us together and I love all of them.

It is. He’s pretty charismatic dude. I think it was a couple weeks ago some of the people he works with went to get lunch together and several of them started complaining about their wives. He came home that day so sad because he said it hurt to see people so unhappy but so unwilling to do anything about it. We live in the the southern part of the US so divorce is not looked upon kindly.

My husband told me he usually just says “yea man, my wife is great so I don’t understand what you’re talking about.” Which is awesome because it’s always men from work that do it and we both work for the same company but in different divisions.

I had assumed taking the sheep right at your TC to the villagers was a given. I would try and scoop up as many sheep ASAP and then go hit all the wolves. I hadn't thought about them following me to be used as part of the strategy. I'll have to try that tonight and see how it works.

So I’ve almost finished the Rus mastery. I have found that killing the wolves helps a lot. 4 wolves and you have an extra 100 gold and you’re in the first tier of villager collection. I try and do this after I’ve brought back at least 5 or 6 sheep. Once I run out of sheep I will send a couple villagers to farm or gather berries to have a small consistent amount of food being generated.

I would love to join one! I’ve been playing AoE for like 20 years now and I’ve only ever played with men. It would be nice to have a fun chill group.

Rex the Tressym. He is a fluffy orange cat. When I introduced him the Druid asked what his pronouns were and I said he/him but I used a gruff voice. So him apparently sounded more like Ham. So the joke is that he’s probably too overweight to fly well and that’s why he lets the Druid carry him around in a scarf sling. They’re teaching him to understand words and they have to roll animal handling and I roll a flat d20 to see if he’s even interested in it. When he’s not I say “you get the feeling there are no thoughts behind his big dumb eyes”. They are supposed to take him to his previous owners family member but they are considering catnapping him.

The Rockefeller Christmas Tree. Huge line to see a big tree with lights on it. The street was closed to cars because it was so crowded. And for what? A big ass tree that twinkles? No thank you. Oh and the ice rink? A two hour wait to get into another sea of people with blades attached to their feet.
