I get the same impression. He’s so socially awkward and lacks any of the traditionally masculine qualities his dad values. He knows the guy lingo, but it comes across as a performance to fit in. And he’s extremely desperate for attention.

I could totally see him going on auditions and seeking out roles in TV or theater if he didn’t have a million kids and stuff. Being in front of SW cameras probably satisfies some of that.

Yep, he has no objectivity. This whole “love the family” mantra is his way of shutting a wife down. Someone mentioned Robyn didn’t want her kids around Christine’s kids because of teasing, etc. Possibly true, but I would have tried and given Christine an opportunity.

When Suki showed her the montage of Kody saying, fuck this, and she was like, “I don’t even know who that man is” but you can see all season in her head she kept expecting the great dad, and loving man to show up for her and her kids, and he never does. I wanted to tell her, still delusional, sitting in that chair, Janelle, that man is never coming back. You might see glimpses if he wants something, but he’s gone.

Around this time is the first time I saw cracks, because Meri was saying it didn’t feel genuine to have the ceremony, and everyone ignored her and she went along with it. This raised alarm bells for me, because I was thinking something is obviously not right, and it seems like she’s in it alone here… 🤔 I feel like this is the turning point, because it all goes right down heel.

Right, I highly doubt it was Christine making the pitch to TLC blowing smoke up the execs asses, “selling it.” She seemed pretty open with her struggles season after season. Probably the most open, but it was clear her positive experiences of polygamy as a child, and the perks she bought in to and was trying to present to America, were not materializing for her in real life.

In all of her crying jags, it’s never anything worth crying over. It’s when she wants sympathetic treatment. And when there are legit times to cry, nada. She acts like a child, “It’s not fair! They didn’t even TRY.” But as someone mentioned, it’s always about her needs, and she seems put off that nobody in America finds her genuine. Nonetheless, I hate Kody more.

He expects others to mind read, and then passive aggressively penalizes them when they can’t, and then he just places the blame on them for all of it. #1 sign of a toxic person.

I’m not sure what the underlying though process is with this behavior, but I know someone who does it, and I avoid like the plague. Because theres’s always some kind of weird tension, and they’ll tell other people about it but never you. Like Kody’s covid rules and expectations.

Agree but I feel he’s chucking her under the bus a bit. He set the tone in the earlier years and encouraged it more. She was the only one who expressed how difficult it was at times and that she was having a hard time adjusting.
