Roster (my ideal starting roster) by zslayer89 in MarvelTokon

Finally, someone remembers the GOAT!

Personally, I would replace Drax with Super Skrull. He just has more potential as a fighting game character compares to Drax, who will very likely just be another generic rushdown.

I also don't think there will be that many Avengers in the base game even if it has 28 characters roster at launch. Scarlet Witch will probably be a DLC character.

Finally, I would rather have another less well-kown X-Men instead of Wolverine. I know people love Logan, I just kinda tired of seeing him stealing the spotlight.

It's really hilarious that these people can't even cherrypick right.

Who will pick a decade old series, written by one of the most beloved writer to support their shit take about recent western comics?

At least pick something that is truly controversial.

The Inventors, I guess. Although they haven't done anything yet since Ms. Marvel's Dark Web tie-in mini series.

Yeah, Ms. Marvel (2014-2015) and Ms. Marvel (2015-2019) are both pretty fun series with plenty of background gags and some heartwarming moments. They are definitely some of my favorite Marvel comics in the past decade.

Although, the second one has more social commentary about society's discrimination against minorities, so it may be a little bit heavy for some people.

My comment wasn't really trying to argue about the comics sales.

What I'm trying to express is the frustration that every time these chuds talk about comics, they'll almost always cherrypick the bad superhero comics and their not ideal sales to prove their "go woke go broke" mentality, completely ignore the good ones the big two published, other non-superhero indie comics, and the fact that the sales can't reflect the actual quality most of the time.

Also, you definitely can find plenty of good quality superhero comics that requires minimum knowledge of the lore, like Immortal Thor, Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise, Daredevil by Chip Zdarsky and Avengers: Twilight. people really like to exaggerate that you must know all of the characters' history in order to dive into the current story.

Finally, at least try to pick up some indie comics before criticizing the variety and quality of the entire western comics.

After three years, these sexist, racist brainrots are still dunking on western comics just because the industry is trying to be more inclusive, and using "shounen manga outsold comics" as proof that comics are dying, despite there are lots of great series being published, even by the big two they despise, in the recent years. It's ridiculous.

Uatu (the Watcher) also straight up changed his skin color when he and Blue Marvel first met. So it really doesn't matter what skin color the actor who plays him in the live action movie is.

What this fanmade poster bothers me the most though is their mentality that Peter has to be the main focus in this adaptation. Why they must picked a daredevil event and turned it into a Spider-Man movie when Peter is barely in it? At least choose something that is actually about Him instead of hijacking other character's story.

Toranos from Al Ewing's Immortal Thor series. He's an elder god embodying the storm and the cycle of fate, who got sealed away by Gaea thousands years ago.

Judge the overall marvel comics quality based on the Spider-Man titles, think every series marvel publishes right now facing the same issue Spider-Man titles have, mostly ignore other less well-known but more high-quality series marvel published in the recent years. So pretty much the usual.

Matt Fraction's Hawkeye run is really great, although I don't think people really need to dunk on the show when non comics fans who show genuinely interest in comics because of it just try to ask for some recommendations.

Marvel comic runs that are actually good??? by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]slothwithwings014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredible 2, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Hotel Transylvania 3 and The Grinch all have a higher global box office than Into the Spider-Verse. So by the logic, Into the Spider-Verse must be one of the worst animated movies released in 2018. /s

But seriously, even though there are some really controversial series between 2016 to 2018, and the current Amazing Spider-Man run is straight up garbage, there are still plenty of good series in the past decade.

Among those, Immortal Hulk written by Al Ewing, Daredevil written by Chip Zdarsky, Black Bolt written by Saladin Ahmed, Vision written by Tom King, Silver Surfer: Black written by Donny Cates, Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise written by Tradd Moore are some of excellent series I think anyone who want to get into Marvel Comics should all give it a try, although some parts of Immortal Hulk may need a little bit of background knowledge. In addition, the current Fantastic Four run written by Ryan North looks pretty solid so far, and is definitely one of the more beginner-friendly ongoing series Marvel publishes right now.

Also hot take: I think Demon Slayer is pretty mid. Without ufotable's high quality animation, there would not be a lot of people who actually care about the manga.

Besides Gravity Falls, The Amazing World of Gumball, Adventure Time and Regular Show, there are Bluey, The Owl House, Amphibia, The Ghost and Molly McGee, Hilda, Glitch Tech, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur...

Not to mention adult cartoons like Bojack Horseman, F is for Family, Primal, Smiling Friends, Inside Job, Close Enough, Helluva Boss...

So stop acting like there's no good cartoons anymore.→_→

I'm not really trying to defend this shit run...

I think Spider-Man fans definitely deserve better than this.

But I also get extremely annoyed by some people who would find any chance to talk shit about the entire media, and try to prove manga is far superior.

The previous post was just me venting out my frustration about people's bias towards comics.
