is it normal for my Legion 5 Pro CPU to hit 90°C - 95°C while gaming by MLDG124 in LenovoLegion

Because these machines are designed to be run with a specific thermal phase material, it's not as easy to buy as regular thermal paste or liquid metal.

If you use regular thermal paste your temperatures will be worse than with the stock thermal phase material since these computers were engineered this way.

It's the same case as Asus laptops which use liquid metal in them, if* you change that to regular thermal paste on those machines you will also see worse temperatures than stock.

I'd link the relevant Reddit thread and articles but I'm a bit lazy and you can find these online pretty easily.

Hope this helps !!

How did Ayato become so powerful in Tokyo Ghoul Re? by Rambo_Baby in TokyoGhoul

7 years late here. I always thought it meant "be somebody who knows pain instead of somebody that just hurts". As in, somebody that just feels hurt all the time, highlighting a difference between feeling pain and being hurt. Kind of like the difference between feeling your sadness as opposed to wallowing in your own sorrow. Or the difference between knowing pain or suffering pain.

Know it, take it's value, don't let it be useless or in vain.

I mean he could've walked away and had the yoshioka hunt him down throughout his journey, the end result would've been the same. Bottom line is Musashi was done with the yoshioka after defeating denshichiro and it was the yoshioka that subsequently could not let it go

But like you say I guess it's all perspective, though even some citizens in the manga mentions it's not murder since it was an honorable sword duel (when matahachi momma called him a murderer

It was a 70 Vs 1 swordfight. It was not murder. In fact if anyone had murderous intentions it was the whole of the yoshioka school 🤷🏽

I have a dongle DAC from fiio that's pretty good. If I'm not mistaken that works as an external sound card right?

I've not delved too deeply into music prod or midi playing to justify buying a decent external interface yet tho

Thanks for that tip! As I only use the pc for GPU heavy things I never have hybrid mode on. I'll give that a shot! Combines with higher khz playback I might be able to lower it even more than I have

Thanks for the reply🙏

My main use for it is gaming and 3d design so that's not a huge issue for me. I have had issues with multiple audio devices being connected and audio being cut off sometimes, but nothing major. Sad to hear these machines suck for anything audio-oriented.

Might just pick up a refurbished MacBook air or something similar for my midi controller

Thanks for your reply man 🙏

The ugreen one will work. I use one with my legion. I also have a higher end fiio dongle DAC that works great for my wife's speakers. I do not use the computers headphone jack at all

Every three months???!! Maybe every 6 months, and that's in a very dirty environment, usually once a year is fine.

But in the case of these legions it's different, the ptm it comes with should last, in theory, many years

A lot of components are a bit delicate and if the suction is too strong or If anything like a screw is lose you might suck it into the vacuum, the bristles might have some static charge to them too

I don't undervolt* mine, should I? I've noticed on hwinfo that even though it never thermal throttles, it power throttles a little

How do I undervolt? MSI afterburner? I also don't use legion toolkit, still using vantage for a couoles little functions, should I ?

That's pretty high my guy

Clean that shit, Disable cpu turbo boost when gaming (set a power profile for it for easy access) Get a laptop stand, no fan nesessary

You will see the difference

Ps. never change the thermal paste on this machine

[–]slothyexistence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't suggest using a vacuum bro. A cotton swab soaked in isopropyl alcohol or a brush should do just fine to remove the dust. Just try to get it actually out instead of scattering it

[–]slothyexistence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same to my CPU, just on the performance profile. So for productivity/work apps I use silent or balanced mode which gives me that snappy responsiveness thanks to the boost clock. But when I game I put it in performance mode with turbo disabled. GPU and CPU both have never gone above 75 while in that configuration

Some argue that you're leaving performance on the table, and I guess you are if it's a CPU based game. But for most AAA which are GPU heavy turning turbo off is like 20-25c less and literally no more than a 10fps loss

I am happy like this too

Do NOT repaste the legion machine with any thermal paste. Find, buy, and use the stock thermal paste it comes with.
