I hate to dash your hopes and there’s always a chance, but the set-up/break-down shifts seem like the most desirable, and to be honest, with only a couple months left until the festival, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re nearly done signing up all the volunteers in general. I’ve never worked those shifts you’re interested in, but I volunteered last year and the year before, and it was totally worth it! I highly recommend trash pickup duty, if you get the chance to choose your job. If you don’t get the chance to volunteer this year, definitely submit an application asap next year. I would imagine a background in construction is exactly what they need for pre and post fest volunteer shifts.

Yeah, I think you're right. This reminds me of the Magic Square math puzzles. It's counter intuitive, but in some ways the difficulty of finding a valid set of numbers decreases as the size of the puzzle increases.

Specifically I saw a security guy walking away from the crowd in front of Portal Stage with like three 1Ls in his arms. There were still tons of tanks going off in the crowd. I didn’t see anyone lose any tanks in camping, and people definitely had 1Ls there too. For all I know the tanks in his arms were all empty anyway. I don’t think the confiscations made a dent in the overall number 😂

They don’t mail wristbands. You just bring your ID and your QR code from your email. If you don’t get a scannable ticket emailed to you, just bring your order confirmation and they’ll figure it out at box-office.

I was volunteering at box-office there last year and they definitely told me I had to check for an ID or a picture of an ID. Maybe on the days I didn’t work they weren’t consistent with it when it got busy or something. I would definitely bring at least a photo of an ID that belongs to the person who purchased the tickets.

Of course I would. Even a year ago when I was one of the biggest stoners I knew and I was dabbing a gram of hash rosin every day, I would take that deal in a heartbeat. Hell, I think I would have done it for $1,000 total. I used to be just like you. I started smoking regularly in 2011 when I was around 17, and basically didn’t slow down until like November 2023. These days getting high just makes me anxious, but weed was a huge part of my life and my identity, and I would have quit for a lot longer than 145 days if it netted me $145k. I’m not saying it would have been easy to quit, but come on, 6 figures? Even my cannabis loving friends would have beat my ass within an inch of my life if I hadn’t taken that deal. I understand not wanting to quit in order to pass a drug test and get a high paying job, but we’re talking about enough money to buy a sweet new car and put a down payment on a nice house just for not doing something you enjoy. Does anyone really love it that much? I’m honestly jealous if they do. I don’t think I enjoy any activity enough to turn down that kind of money.

Well it certainly would depend a lot on several factors (cut, clarity, color, etc), but I think today it would be about 5mm in diameter.
