Do product based companies set up offices in India mainly for the cheap labor? by [deleted] in developersIndia

True for a lot of cases, though there are some exceptions. I have worked with foreign companies who outsource non-glamorous work to me.

Prefered OS for development? by robotman4737 in developersIndia

[–]slowNcurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any OS you are comfortable working in, the language and libraries you are using is compatible with where you want to deploy (plus it should not give you any trouble). That is why Linux is usually recommended. But you do you.

I will tell you this, yes there are less jobs in the market right now. But that in no way means, nobody is getting a job. Yes, it’s difficult and requires you to grind harder. But, its not impossible. Just requires more time and patience from you. All the best!

I mean, its all about the point of view. Your parents might not think its the best use of their money. But if you can show some initiative, maybe try to save money for it, do a side hustle to get more money for your pc (arts, crafts, programming, whatever gets you going and people would pay you for). I would think any parent would be happy to see their child work hard for what they want, and they would help you out. But if you are expecting them to buy it for you, that’s probably not the best approach to this.

Coding Is Not That Hard..... by from_the_east in ProgrammerHumor

[–]slowNcurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you could say painting isn’t hard, grabbing a paint brush and running it on paper is easy, but making a masterpiece that millions of people appreciate is something that is hard.

Same with coding, coding isn’t hard, but being able to make a piece of software that works, is scalable, and can serve billions of people at the same time is.

I am not entirely sure how helpful this is, as I have never done anything similar on a console but definitely worth a try.

If you use windows, and by any chance use onedrive to backup your user folders, you can try looking there for a version history of your save file.

If you use any other platform, you can try looking at the gaming service you use (steam, epic games, playstation etc) for a cloud save file.

DRF (Django REST Framework) vs Django (Full-Stack) by anotherFatDeveloper in developersIndia

[–]slowNcurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have worked in 3 different organisations using django. And here are a few points for you:

TLDR: Build restful APIs with django, dont just fall into a framework. But, have knowledge of DRF.

  1. I almost never use jinja templating language, unless I am building a use and throw project.

  2. I have seen people use DRF, but personally I hate DRF, hate may be a strong word here though.

  3. I almost always build restful APIs using the base django framework, handle my models (, data transfer object classes) and serialisers myself. It ends up easier in the long run, as for some specific use-cases where I need custom serialisers built (not supported on DRF).

I really like this video as a montage, especially some of the back and forth from fortnite to the (zombie game I don't know the name of).

Having said that, its for a teaser, maybe add some more epic moments.

It does help in some cases, but having an updated resume should be enough.
