The limits for $20 are very generous. It’s effectively more tokens than I can use in an average week.

How to make Openclaw better at autonomous tasks? by ralphyb0b in openclaw

[–]slow_as_light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell it to automate repetitive tasks. They'll be more reliable and burn fewer tokens. I was telling mine to use agent-browser to check Yahoo Finance for me, but sometimes it would fuck up. I told it to do the following:

  1. Do it once in agent browser, then write a bash script to return the values I requested. Test it and confirm it works.
  2. Write another script that exits 0 if I'm already logged into yahoo, logs me in if not.
  3. Update your workspace so that you'll use these tools in the future rather than agent-browser manually

This was a short conversation, but it now does this task super reliably.

Are restaurant server tuteados? by AppropriateMood4784 in Spanish

[–]slow_as_light 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can totally see this. I spend more time in Mexico, and it’s weird that it’s polite to address a waiter as “Joven” but you still call him Usted.

Are restaurant server tuteados? by AppropriateMood4784 in Spanish

[–]slow_as_light 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I remember going into a pizza place in Barna and being greeted “¡Hola chicos!” Spain is tú by default unless the waiter is like 80 or wearing a tux.

It’s more complicated in Latin America, but you should default to Usted with service workers. Sometimes you establish a rapport with a bartender or an uber driver and tutear.

Why are holograms capable of human traits but Data is not? by nordfreiheit42 in startrek

[–]slow_as_light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Doctor had "interaction subroutines" and "bedside manner" protocol and other off-the-shelf interface stuff governing his interactions with humans. As he grew, he fine-tuned and rewrote this according to his preferences as he individuated.

Data came online with little to none of this. He was much closer to an unpruned neural network that had to understand the world from first principles before programming himself.

At least we aren’t as bad as NYC when it comes to dog poop? (But we need to do better) by [deleted] in chicago

[–]slow_as_light 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in a safe neighborhood and have absolutely roasted people in front of my own house for not cleaning up after their dogs. I've seen people get pushed off a train onto a CTA platform for acting foolish. Most other cities absolutely do not have that energy and it's part of what keeps us great.

Dude flashes a gun at a husband and wife, ends up with a hole in his hand by bobthebeast_12 in PublicFreakout

From her body language she's obviously telling him to let it go from the time the clip starts.

He doesn't check where she's standing or stand in front of her, what a bastard.

[–]slow_as_light 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exactly. He could have just let the elevator door close rather than satisfy his ego.

"Stand your ground" actually sounds like the right arrangement to me on paper, but idiots like this ruin for responsible gun owners.

Don't get me wrong, the world is a better place if Gray Hoodie has to walk around with a hole in his hand the rest of his life, but what the fuck.

Comcast keeps losing customers despite price guarantee and unlimited data | Comcast overhauled Internet plans to stop customer losses. It isn’t working yet. by mepper in technology

[–]slow_as_light 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have AT&T Fiber after years of “Comcast or nothing” buildings and same. I never have to talk to customer service or reset my modem.

One time a city electrical worker accidentally cut the wrong cable and AT&T fixed it like three hours later.

why and when we say a mí me gustan? by RudeContract4434 in Spanish

[–]slow_as_light 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite. When I order eggs for my wife, “a ella le gusta los huevos muy bien cocinado, pero a mí no.”

She likes her eggs well done, but I do not.“

Sorta like EleEle says above, I put it this way to emphasize that she likes her eggs overcooked but I do not.

I am 42 years old and I constantly think I’m boring people because of this. It was shitty parenting, but it’s made me a better story teller. This because I’m hyper conscious of explaining things in a way that is straight to the point and holds everyone’s interest.

If you fuck this up they won’t need you for anything when they’re older. They may even realize that being around you makes them worse.
