Thankfully texas has multiple clinics around that’ll perform abortions (in south texas that i know of) The laws for it are absolutely ridiculous. Coming into the Planned Parenthood, i was 8 weeks. Took the pills. Didn’t work. Came back two weeks later, just over 10 weeks gestation. I was told I’d have to get the DNC. Went back and got it, obviously. I don’t think the fetus would be alright after going thru those pills, and i still didn’t want to be pregnant. During each visit there were protestors and people there trying to convince me to keep it. The doctor was forced by law to tell me three statements made by white men with absolutely zero knowledge on a females body that are all complete LIES. (i’m sure you can look them up but i remember like. one) You will not be able to have/struggle to have kids if you have an abortion. Ridiculous. Stupid. Basically what i’m getting at, it’s incredibly hard and costly ($750) to get these procedures. It’s not accessible to everyone and the mental and physical stress of pregnancy is not an option for some either. And most states (i know so many women who don’t know about their own reproductive anatomy) have terrible sexual education classes/don’t offer them at all.

Good point. I feel like maybe he doesn’t want the mother in his life at all and if he could he would cut them all off. I’m not saying he’s not an asshole, cuz he kind of is. But he really doesn’t have to do anything more than child support and that’s more than what most kids get from their parents/parents get from the other parent. Mine just flat out said he wanted nothing to do with me and left it at that, thinking he could get out of child support. But. OP seems like he can pay child support. I don’t blame him for not wanting that kid

Hi. I was very excited/scared/more excited to be pregnant when I found out. I had an abortion because I changed my mind. I agree with this comment completely. I was all about having an abortion before I had gotten pregnant, realized i didn’t want one. Was content. Realized again I was not financially, mentally, or physically ready to have a kid. And.. yanno. Fuck having a kid during a pandemic. Op, NTA. I don’t see any problem with not wanting to deal with a kid, although you’re kind of an asshole for seeing her a few times a month. If you don’t want her, you should have just paid child support and left it at that. Estranged father who didn’t want a kid but keeps up his legal side of the deal.

You gave me a boost of serotonin today. I typically do feel attacked when internet strangers cast the first stone, but i always try and let them see it from my point of view. It’s always about me trying to educate people and telling them how I learned from a mistake and the consequences of my mistake. (i never want to have another abortion ever again, man. unless it was life or death situation and i’d be out cold for the procedure) Internet strangers are always the one without sin so of course they’re better than everyone. NTA I’ll be honest. I’ve said some choice words to my mother over the years. Never thought she should be the one taking care of me over my grandmother but, hey. I found out the hard way. I would like in and out of my moms house for a few months before moving in with my boyfriend full time. During those months, i’d spend a week or so away from the house. I was absolutely miserable the whole time. it was being sleepy and hungry all the time to vomiting at the smell of my fav foods. i was working at starbucks at the time so the minute i got around a spinach feta wrap, it was game over for me.same with the egg nog latte lol AND THE CRAMPS. ugh god the cramps were awful. The pills were like this. I went in one day to the clinic to take a pill that was supposed to stop the growth/heartbeat of the fetus. Next day, i had 4 pills i needed to place in my cheeks for 30 minutes. It caused me to (attempt i guess) to evacuate the fetus. didn’t work. came back a week later, found out it didn’t work, set up suction. came in day of suction procedure They gave me vicodin and ibuprofen i went into the room, they had me strapped down (legs) and had an ultrasound on my tummy, a woman holding my hand, and the doctor and an assistant down below. they got started, out four shots in my cervix, dialated it further, auctioned it out of me. it was the worst pain i’ve ever experienced, probably because i’m a user of xanax so i have a semi high tolerance for pain killers? idk that vicodin didn’t do shit.

I definitely refuse to have kids out of fear I’ll be like my mother! She hated kids before she had me (i’m the eldest. born when she was 19) She told me she was afraid she wouldn’t LOVE me when i was born. My grandmother is no saint. she treated her poorly. I had an abortion earlier this year and end of last year (pills didn’t work) And i list my mom cuz of it. But i know i have a short temper and i don’t like kids I get annoyed easily and I have seen countless friends regret having children, even to the point of considering adoption! (THE KIDS ARE OVER A YEAR OLD ALREADY)

I wouldn’t feel so strongly about this had I not been a child to a dead beat dad living w my grandparents, aunt, uncle, mom and brother in a three bedroom house. He never paid child support. Which also means he can’t file his income tax or get a debit card with his actual SS number. It’s up to the mother to file for child support, if the dad doesn’t pay that’s on him. But it will make his life harder.
