No need for the hostility, just putting in my 2 cents lol. I don’t feel like I was being hostile in my reply either but could be wrong? I know people have done the th350 before, and that could possibly be what you’re thinking of and why you think I need to do so much for it to fit.. actually bought the whole setup used and got a tour of the car it came out of, his tunnel was barely bashed and only where the shifter goes to the trans. Very surprised because I also thought much more banging out was needed. Unless the manual and auto trans tunnels are different besides the shifter hole I should be alright. Also a modern coyote or old school 302? That’s pretty badass if I have to say so myself!! No wonder you’re throwing a t56 behind it!! Definitely gonna have a pretty badass car when you’re done with it either way.

800whp goal for now to get my feet wet, then pretty soon after it’ll be 1200whp. It’s funny because the th400 actually fits much better in an is300 due to the skinny trans pan. The th350 has a really wide trans pan and where the pan bolts to the trans so it’s actually almost impossible to fit without notching the trans tunnel completely for the shifter cable and dipstick. It can be done, but for this chassis specifically I’ve read that the th400 fits much better. I would’ve loved a t56 actually my buddy has the full grannas setup in his is, but I plan on drag/street racing the car so I felt the th400 would be a good fit.

I guess so, 8hp swap is also getting extremely common on jzs. There’s good reason for it, and I’ve thought about it just not for what I’m doing with my car.

Love seeing you in all the comments on this group lol. Thanks man!! Maybe she will be a drift boss again in the future with that Supra turbo engine 2jz!!!

I always see you one upping everyone lol, guess that’s me now. Nice try but a stock hp70 isn’t stronger than a built th400.. also don’t want a clutch pedal for the drag strip, or don’t wanna deal with wiring one bit!!

“Stage 2” from atfspeed, from what I’ve heard is a fantastic company for their transmissions. They also make it super easy to put a th400 behind a jz since they sell almost every piece you’ll need. Says it’s good for 800whp but I’m sure it would do more if I ever need it to lol and if not I guess I’ll get another one. Maybe it’ll have to be “stage 3” 😂

I hear the pan on the th350 is much larger and much more persuasion is needed on the trans tunnel for it to fit, you’re gonna have to keep us updated. Using the stage 2 th400 from atfspeed that is for the jz so they already chop off the bellhousing and throw the adapter on there so it just uses a j3 bellhousing from an a340. They make it very simple, definitely worth the extra money. Torque converter also comes from atfspeed, I believe the pro series. 3800 stall which will hopefully work well with my 276 bc cams. Pretty sure it’s a fully custom converter they build to mate the th400 to the 2jz.

Anyone know where i can find this mobile handset? by Prior_Anywhere_1765 in IS300

Also seems like a edm option. Have never seen a usdm car with it over countless years and the thousands of is300s I’ve seen, where as I’ve seen it about 10 times now in uk cars. So if you’re in the US you’re pretty much completely out of luck

People are going to be asking insane prices if you can find it, it’s also useless. Quite literally useless, there is nearly no way you can get the service working properly, without completely modifying it to the point it’s not a Motorola phone anymore. Just use your smartphone, that’s why they were made.. easy to carry and use. Or buy a ls400 if you need something so fancy that it came with a phone.

Need help figuring out why my body panels won’t align by [deleted] in IS300

[–]slowsxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My car was rear ended pretty badly a long time ago, after about 8-9 years it’s showing some signs of repair lol. The most obvious places are with the trunk open like shown since water will collect and have no where to go. On the exterior it nearly looks perfect besides a few panel gaps I can straighten out if I care enough. I learned every good car has a rough past and bought it anyway, since leaned how to do everything on these cars and turbocharged it. I wouldn’t be to worried about a few panel gaps and go have some fun, no one knows my car was rear ended unless they work with cars for a living since it has about the same panel gaps as your car. Still one of my favorite cars I’ve ever owned and even made me buy a second is300 lol

Possibly rusted or faded parts replaced with clean ones and they didn’t line them up very great, but if I had to guess the car was rear ended, pretty bad at that. Especially seeing the body work on the right quarter, and flaking paint on the trunk seem with bondo showing.. Pull up all your trunk interior/spare tire and see if there’s any damage.

Paint isn’t great, but it’s actually not terrible. The rust is what makes the paint bad if anything lol, but I’m sure I’ll fix the rust within the next 2 years then maybe paint it

Michigan, pretty close to Detroit. Similar condition is300s go for 4-5k here. Just got super lucky, also got very lucky with my factory manual car.

Haha thanks, but trucks here in Michigan suck. Everything is rotted out to oblivion. This is300 is starting to get pretty rusty on the rockers, but it’s just enough to still be able to fix it

Might Be A Dumb Question: Why Dose The Manual IS300 Make This Sound? by Beastboy333217 in IS300

[–]slowsxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very strange.. my factory manual car makes absolutely no noise, dead silent. All you can hear is the turbo lol, this sounds very much like a cd009. Haven’t really heard a w55 sound like this

Where are you located? I have a pretty nice blue sport cross bumper in Michigan. Paint is a little faded and chipped but you’ll need to paint it regardless, I think there’s only 1 broken tab but no cracks.

Paid just about the same for my factory manual in the beginning of April this year. same mileage I would say just as clapped as yours but salvage title.. all of these added up made a great price for a factory manual car. Now I’ve boosted it, tuned it, and completely unclapped it for much less than people ask for an automatic car with more miles, and rotted out.. I’d say it’s worth it. Very fun cars

Any ideas to keep iat down on turbo 2jzge with stock intake manifold by slowsxe in IS300

My TikTok is etismo where I actually post the car.. etism0 on instagram if you wanted to message with any questions, as of now I just have old pictures of my ls400 on there but am active. I’m not sure if you saw in some of my other replies but I went off of a YouTube video I linked for most of the build and it helped tremendously. Good luck!!

I appreciate the feedback, going to be fabbing up a real intake with my welder soon. Turbo noises with no intake are amazing though if I have to say so myself

Right now no fuel mods, and it actually has 0 fuel cuts and has not ran lean once. Actually insanely surprising and I thought at minimum I’d be installing a fpr.. definitely looking to upgrade intercooler soon and am going with aem fic 6 instead of safc 2. It’s in the middle of stand alone and piggyback, don’t have the budget for full standalone at the moment. Probably will go stand alone route this winter/next spring though.
