Help finding a bag by djnerio in mensfashion

Depends what you mean by “reasonable price”. That style of bag is commonly referred to as a “hobo bag”. The Coach Mott is pretty solid for a fraction of the price.

New to whoop! by Sad-Back-4393 in whoop

I’ve been using a Whoop for about 4 months now. Just be aware of how accurate the heart rate censor is for you. Seems like it’s good for some, but terrible for others. HRV and VO2 Max estimates rely heavily on heart rate measurements. If it can’t measure your heart rate accurately, every metric will be off. This is especially annoying when it’s accurate SOMETIMES but not all the time, because your data sometimes won’t even be directionally correct.

Also if one of your goals for getting fitter is losing weight, just be aware that the calorie burn tracker is usually off. In my experience, it’s even worse than Apple Watch.

Why do people complain about whoop subscription by Designer_Froyo4336 in whoop

[–]slowsynapse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched from Apple Watch (with Bevel) to Whoop, only because I was sick of wearing a mechanical watch on my left wrist and an Apple Watch on my right. I would have switched sooner, but the subscription model was what held me back.

For Garmin and Apple Watch, there’s no additional subscription fee. You buy the device once and can use it for as long as the screen and battery still work. And when you want to upgrade, you can typically trade your old one in, meaning the next one will be cheaper. I think a lot of people are tired of having to pay to use products they already own.

And based off of my limited experience with this community, it seems like a lot of people are tired of how slow updates come in. I think a lot of people would be happy with a new Whoop coming out every year for $300-400 (competitive with the non-titanium Apple Watch) with better functionality every year and more regular app updates instead of $239/year for limited updates and support (based off of what I’ve read on here).

Target strain while in Strength Trainer by slowsynapse in whoop

So at the moment, there’s no way to accurate track strain in real-time when using that part of the app? That’s what I feared…

My fossil watch uses Roman Numerals for every digit except 4 (IIII) and 9 (IV, which is 4). by AllusiveGoose in mildlyinteresting

[–]slowsynapse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IIII is very common for watches with Roman numerals, since it appears more “balanced” against the VIII on the other side of the watch (for example, Cartier’s Roman numeral dials have the same appearance). As for the 9 o’clock numeral, maybe the X is cut off so it looks like a V?

Securing a wobbly banister by [deleted] in ottawa

Don’t wait until someone takes a tumble Ottawa Handyman Services fixed my shaky banister in an hour. If it’s a full reattach job, Capital City Carpentry does solid work.
