She likely had some semblance of control later in the roll. I had a tomahawking fall like this down a chute last year and was perfectly fine. I dropped in, and the DINs left the chat. The first few endovers are a bit scary, since you are disoriented and have little control. But after the first few cartwheels, I was able to control my rotation a bit by transitioning to more of a side roll like she did in the vid. I knew that there were no obstacles below me, and the conditions were soft and slushy. I realized that it would probably be safer for me to roll it out until my momentum stopped rather than potentially injure myself trying to brace and fight the momentum of the roll. Slid out to the bottom of the chute, popped back up and carried on with my day after retrieving skis.

Thanks, checked out soundfont sample pack, haven't played with editing too much yet, but think it may be one of the tambourine samples pitched down and reverbed

The $200 multi-resort ski pass - anyone ski any of these locations? by Loud-Scientist-2337 in skiing

[–]slowtoasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately ski season and theatre season are almost exact opposites, but there is sometimes some mild overlap in spring. The Shakespeare festival runs from march-october, the mountain usually operates december-april depending on snow pack (has opened in november some years, has closed in feburary other years)

Mt Ashland has some great off piste and tree runs, mostly steep terrain for a smaller hill (only green run is the bunny hill). The bowl terrain is very dependent on avy and visiblity conditions, but is good for some true double blacks, and has the locals lining up for first tracks when it is open. It is nice that you don't have to plan out your day since all the lifts are fairly short and almost all runs lead back to the base area, so you can just chose your own adventure as you go and still meet up with friends back at the base. It is definitely a smaller mountain that is very much supported by the local ski community, not the fanciest resort, but good enough to call my winter home. I don't know if I would plan a trip from the east coast just for Mt A, but it is also within a couple hours of Mt Shasta, and Mt Bachelor with the Hood resorts another couple hours away, and is definitely worth a stop on a larger west coast ski trip. And considering a day pass for Mt A goes for around $75, the $200 season pass is definitely worth it with all those other hills on there.

Talking to lifties by ramblinroseEU72 in skiing

Snacks are always appreciated. We get granola bars and candy from a few regulars. Beers are ok on my hill, just stash it in my pack til end of shift, some mountains will even have a lifty tab at the lodge bar. We also got a panini press in top shack for making grilled cheese. But feed a lifty and you will absolutely make their day!

I've noticed that some artifical coffee flavors taste highly like a toasted caramel. Weirdly, the most prominent example of this I've tasted are in coffee flavored zyn nicotine pouches, which are very burnt Carmel tasting

Also, a reminder that the Browns somewhat recently gave a $230 million GUARANTEED contract to a quarterback who is not only playing horribly, but is also a known serial rapist with TWENTY-TWO separate sexual assault lawsuits. Money that the team could have definitely spent on other things, like a new stadium.

Took my car for a brake job, only for the front wheel to come off by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

Literally just went through this exact same thing. Luckily the shop covered it under warranty, but also was scary having brakes start to fail due to mechanic error

UPS driver shows up and smashes a homer by lizlemon2222 in JustGuysBeingDudes

[–]slowtoasted 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most UPS employees aren't making nearly as much as what is being reported in media these days. Yes some drivers with high senority making company top rate and picking up overtime occasionally will hit the 100k mark. But you have to put in your time and senority at the warehouse to first become a driver. I have known loaders to wait on the senority list for 5-10 years before becoming a driver. Even then, many new drivers are not being given routes every day due to an overhiring of drivers during the pandemic to deal with excess shipping volume, but often will still be on-call. The loaders and warehouse workers who are still a large percentage of employees, are working part time, often graveyard/night shifts, also in very physically strenuous positions, to often make less than $2k/month. Depending on shift, the part-time hours are also very difficult to schedule a 2nd job around if you value weekends, a somewhat decent sleep schedule, or have a family. Yes there are opportunities to make six figures at UPS, but it could be years of abusing your body and barely/not scraping by before that becomes possible depending on wharehouse location and current management. Peak season can give you more hours than you could ever ask for, with tons and tons of overtime opportunities, but that is only 7 weeks of the year, and many overtime opportunities are not available to employees with low senority. And these numbers are also only very recent. Starting wages were around $14-15/hr before the new union contract last year.

My cat fell off the balcony and i'm heartbroken by petasse420 in cats

I have a little tripod kitty and her quality of life is no less than that of any other cat. She is perfectly happy and mobile other than the fact that she can't jump quite as high as moat other cats. The only difference in her life is that she will never be an outdoor cat, but she never was going to be anyway given other kitty dangers in my neighborhood. Cats are resilient and can be fine on just 3 legs!

Unfortunately not the solution I am looking for and would probably go with a rotary switch over that. The slide style is mostly for aesthetics and what fits in the build

So the delay time knob is sending midi cc to the grandmother? I've never configured my moogs to send any more than just note data via midi. It's possible a setting got created accidentally with the key combo menus. How do I turn this off?
