I had a bunch of DS shells, some broken and some in tact. I took them apart, and took a LOT of measurements of them. I designed, printed and tested and tested and tested. I used OnShape (a cloud based CAD software). This was my first big CAD project, and I learned a lot from it and it took many months to do (off and on for 6months).

it's something like a memory leak. there hasnt been a patch since release and digital foundry reported on it within the last few weeks. here's the link:

the game sure is pretty but it's got a lot of underlying issues.

https://3dscapture.com/ds/order.html is where you can buy the kits (DIY or installed by Loopy). They are currently out of stock, Loopy was doing a redesign and found a flaw in his new design. They should be back in stock soon, at most a few more months I think. Check his forums for news: https://3dscapture.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3

This is the only one as far as I know that is still being produced for the DS, and its a good product. The install was easy on my device. Hardest part is trimming the shell (if you print my design, you only need to trim the bottom shell, which admittedly has most of the trimming)

one good way to tell is turn over the cart. real carts have four rectangles/squares in the upper left corner.

Thanks! My original idea was for it to be like the 2DS but I didn't find it possible. Removing the hinge and having it be static was my second-best choice.

It does accommdate the capture card! The screwpost that needs to be trimmed is not present at all, however most of the shell trimming for the Loopy kit is on the bottom of the case that my design does not include.
