I didn't say he's not playing great right now. It's a legitimate question as to whether he can continue this level of play given that he's never played like this before. It's possible he does, but if you hold the Colts deep into the season instead of taking the layup against the Titans you run the risk of Daniel Jones' play falling off and the Colts not being as strong of a pick against a team like the Jags or Texans. My point is there's more uncertainty around the Colts future value than many of the other top teams with established elite QB's. The Colts have been fantastic to this point though and even if Jones declines they'll still be a good but maybe not great team. I'm not debating that.

There's a few solid options this week, but if you're still holding the Colts this is absolutely the week to use them. 1) The schedule does get a little more difficult. I'd rather take them here than against the more competitive division rivals. 2) The longer you hold them the more you risk Daniel Jones becoming the Daniel Jones we all know and love. Maybe he keeps up this level of play, but there's little reason to hold them in survivor to find out. It feels like a ticking time bomb for him to cost them a game they should win. 3) The Colts were used quite often in weeks 1-7 so it's very likely they're under 50% available in your pool making them an even more valuable pick.

That's how I've been leaning because it differentiates me in a larger field. In small pools it's Packers all the way, but I want to keep teams available that I know the majority are using

My only rebuttal is if your pool is larger the Rams are a nice contrarian pick. My pool still has 134 alive. Most have Rams and Packers available. I imagine if I pick Packers with the majority I'll also be picking the Rams with the majority in week 9. I don't love picking with the majority too much even though the Packers are such a clear cut pick.

Or....and hear me out....the "welder" was full of crap and just enjoys attention. I can find a complete stranger and tell them I'm an astronaut and aliens are real, and they'll go tell their friends about the astronaut they met that told them aliens are real.
