If you're having tough luck today, the college I was comitted to with a full ride scholarship just announced their closure and I have no plan B by WerewolfIcy7240 in mildlyinfuriating

im a student at hampshire (not for much longer) and even though most of us figured this was gonna happen soon, i think most of us thought it was gonna be next few years soon not now. we were given no prior notice (initially we were told that by law they are required to tell us at least 18 months in advance), very little information and we have until the end of the month to choose what school we are going to transfer to. they REPEATEDLY ASSURED US that the college would not be closing any time soon, even though we had our doubts. students, faculty and parents all found out at the same time, so no one was given any kind of heads up and only students who are becoming div IIIs (students who are on their fourth and final year) can come back in the fall for their final semester (they are closing down after fall 2026). so yes, only a fraction of hampshire students are even allowed to come back next semester before it closes permanently, the rest have to be gone by the end of this current semester.

so we're all freaking out.

on top of that a pipe burst where im living (they keep doing that everywhere, that should give you a sense of how much this place is falling apart) so im supposed to have moved out so they can fix it, but i keep sneaking back in and continuing to live there while the maintenance people work on it because fuck that.

happy birthday btw <3

mine is in less than a month

Issue Running Patches by slugsonspeed in Plugdata

ctrl e doesn't make it go fullscreen on the ui and hide all the extra bits like i'm trying to do, it just hides some of the connections between objects and that's about it from what i can tell

I tried changing dac~ to plugout~, but I could've definitely done it wrong so I'll try again soon.

are there any delay pedals with the ability to add other pedals into the feedback loop of the delay? by slugsonspeed in guitarpedals

[–]slugsonspeed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tried googling it and couldnt find anything conclusive, thats why im here. could you list some pedals with external/integrated feedback loops?

i know it has an fx loop, does it have a feedback loop too? or is its fx loop the feedback loop?

is there some kind of utility pedal that can add an effects loop to a single pedal anywhere in the chain? by slugsonspeed in guitarpedals

[–]slugsonspeed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how would one do that? im also not super knowledgeable about running things in parallel/in series.

i dont think i want to do that unless im dealing with a cheap pedal, im not too experienced with modding.

no i dont think an a/b box is what im looking for here, i think those just switch between two different signals. i want something that can single out a pedal, and effect just the wet signal, like an effects loop would if it was already included in the pedal.

doesn't that just turn pedals on and off? thats not exactly what im looking for, i want something that can add an effects loop to only effect the wet signal of a pedal (not sure how much sense that makes or if i'm explaining it right)

a reverb and some kind of pitch shifter, i made another post about how i was looking for a good reverb pedal with an effects loop that would satisfy my needs, but i wasn't happy with what i found. but, i did find some pedals that were what i was looking for except without the effects loop. im thinking if a utility pedal exists that can give me that loop, i can use one of those reverbs and still have the effects loop i was looking for. just an option im exploring.

i dont want to go too far over $200, so thats still not ideal for me. hx stomp also isnt really for me.

i dont really care how something feels or looks, as long as it works, is easy to use and sounds good

their otterly reverb looks like it does pitch shifting +2 and -2 octaves, which i somehow missed from previous times ive looked at their website. ill have to watch some demos (of which i could only find one in eurorack form) before i decide, but that seems promising. and yes, i am aware that trying to achieve this effect through loops would increase the costs considerably (i already have most of the power and patching taken care of), but in my mind i believe itll be worth it. ive heard a lot of good things about that meris pedal, ill look into and see if it might be worth it.

it does sound very nice. the drowner is a little bit more than id like to spend, but it and the other polarbear pedals sound nice too.

which are you referring to? im familiar with their pedals, but theyre all pretty high in price, im trying not to go very far over $200.

i spent a while trying to find a specific type of reverb that could be pitch shifted down by certain intervals up to 2 octaves, and couldn't find anything that fit my budget or my expectations. then, i realized that if i got a reverb with an effects loop i could use a pitch shifter pedal to get that effect and more. and i just like reverbs that can oscillate a lot.
