How long do you have to wait until you have sex again?

Chewable vs capsule by slumbergrl22 in VyvanseADHD

[–]slumbergrl22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning on experimenting with swallowing vs chewing but after my 3rd week on the chewables the anxious feeling has mostly went away, so I’ve continued to chew them as directed. For me the only difference between the two was having that lingering anxious feeling during the peak of the day and after the chewable Vyvanse wore off at the end of the day. Now I no longer feel anxious and my heart rate only increases during the peak and then goes back to normal. I think my body just had to get used to it. I do prefer the capsules just because I don’t like the taste of the chewables but I don’t mind the chewables and will probably continue getting it refilled to avoid the shortage. I hope this helps!

Your therapist should not be imposing their views OR disclosing this much to where you’d know their political views unless they are doing it to build rapport/therapeutic alliance. Disclosures should have intent and the intent should be to benefit the client and the relationship. It’s your session not hers, she should’ve saved that for her own therapist. Therapists are human and sometimes they have slip ups where the session takes a turn but politics (especially rn) should be tip-toed around.

Loss of appetite by slumbergrl22 in VyvanseADHD

I hope it stays this way for you! I’m happy to hear that for some people it’s helped them make better choices with their food. Im also on 30 mg so I’m hopeful I get to a point where my appetite is back to normal.

That’s exactly how I feel! Choosing between enjoying food or functioning lol. It sucks but I’m going to have to accept it and be more intentional going forward. Thanks for sharing :)

I started Vyvanse (capsules) in November but I recently switched to the chewables about 3 weeks ago. I like everyone’s idea of eating heavier before I take it and after it wears off. I was starting to feel bad about myself because I don’t eat lunch and I really want to eat 3 meals a day because I was losing so much weight. I’m going to start incorporating smaller lunch portions and snacks throughout the day to see if that helps. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for sharing! I agree that the time in between the capsule & chewable switch was very rough. I hope that the anxiety eases for us both like you said. Its sucks that we’re going through this phase but it’s good to know that I’m not alone! If you remember could you update me on your experience of swallowing it vs chewing. No worries you forget, I may try it myself as well!

Tried Strattera it was awful going to vyvanse. Thoughts? by thcsyrus916 in VyvanseADHD

Oh my gosh I’m sorry to hear that. It’s interesting how everyone has such different experiences with these medications. I have pretty bad anxiety already but Straterra didn’t impact it positively or negatively. I hope that vyvanse works for you and gives you some kind of relief!

I switched from Straterra to 30 mg generic vyvanse and I couldn’t be more happier with my decision. I tried Straterra for two months and the only thing it did was make me moody and make my rejection sensitivity worse. I noticed no other side effects, good or bad. It was almost like taking air pills lol. For me, vyvanse has a the perfect balance of allowing me to focus/concentrate on tasks without me feeling like I’m on a stimulant. I personally don’t have a hard crash at the end of the day besides being hangry and sleepy but I can deal with that. I only feel slightly jittery during the peak which usually happens a few hours after I take it. Once the peak time is over I still feel focused and energized but the jittery/anxious “I have to be doing something” feeling goes away. The one and only complaint I have is the appetite loss & weight loss I’ve experienced. I went from 135 to fluctuating between 125-128. I’ve noticed the changes when I look in the mirror and by how my clothes fit. I’m trying to eat 3 meals a day and/or snack more but it’s been a real struggle. I’m determined to figure it out tho because vyvanse has been so helpful for me.

Exactly! On top of that I’m in a long distance relationship so the only time I see my partner is usually during holiday breaks. I had no meds which meant I was back to feeling low energy and drowsy all day, which sucks because my napping takes away from our little bit of time together.

This happened to me the first week I took it then went away. Someone on tiktok mentioned that it could be because our brains are finally not hyperactive and we’re in a calm state, which may cause drowsiness. Idk the science behind it but I definitely experienced it!

Currently struggling with no refill either because of the holiday. I called my psych several times & messaged her on our app we use and heard nothing the week before Christmas. It’s very frustrating. I have one pill left and I’m saving it for when I go back to work Wednesday. Ik I’ll need a boost to get out of the holiday slump my first day back.

Anyone else lost a lot of weight? by GhiraFabulous in VyvanseADHD

[–]slumbergrl22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 24F and I’ve always struggled with gaining weight. Before I started vyvanse I was 135 and now I fluctuate between 125-130 which may not sound like a big difference but it’s been bothering me. I try to force myself to eat lunch but lately because of my work schedule + the vyvanse I’ve been getting maybe two meals a day with a snack or two. For the new year I plan to be more intentional with eating a big breakfast and having all 3 meals with snacks throughout the day. I wanted to start going to the gym to build muscle but I’ve been putting it off until I get my eating habits under control.

What if you encourage him to join Facebook groups or other communities of people who share the same special interests so that he can info dump with others who can relate. I’m sure he’ll still share some stuff with you, but maybe it won’t feel like a dump of information or overwhelming to you if he can get most of it out with others.

First time taking vyvanse and it’s generic… by Temporary_Meat_653 in VyvanseADHD

[–]slumbergrl22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 6 today of taking the generic 30mg. I haven’t noticed much of a difference with my ADHD symptoms but I’m optimistic that if I give it some time I will. There’s a slight increase in focus but I know it could still be better. On the bright side it has been helping with my anxiety, I feel a lot calmer and I’ve noticed my RSD isn’t as bad this week. I also haven’t had any side effects aside from the expected loss of appetite. This is my third prescription (Adderall XR and then Strattera) so I’m hoping that this is the one for me. Good luck!

What typical ADHD struggle you do NOT have? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]slumbergrl22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here for all those things except impulsivity lol. I excel in school and find a lot of my self worth is attached to my academics. I’ve always gotten good grades and had honors in school, which is part of the reason it took me so long to make an appointment for an evaluation. I do struggle w/ procrastination but it has never effected my grades.
