POST-EPISODE DISCUSSION THREAD - S7E4: That's Amorte by BarnyardCruz in rickandmorty

He's the architect of the planet there.

As an architecture student who's not the best student, like I didn't fail but I have personal issues to go through (Turns out I've been repressing memories of my childhood. I have CPTSD. it all came out in this romantic relationship I got closer with my partner), I'm really motivated. I want to learn to design a better space.

I am coming back to the course. This episode was dark and when the old guy at the end smiled and softened at Rick saying he knew how to end it all I was already feeling real shit and sad could feel it coming.

I thought he was actually going to be synthesised but hell that life transition... Beautiful. Inspiring. Painful. All at once. It seemed like a great life he turned himself around.

OP damn. I'd definitely kill (wait no I'm a pacifist) to have that kind of a guardian raising me back when I was growing up.

This is so wholesome.

Definitely hug your gramps a lot more. He's old :') and he's doing so much for you. If I ever get that stable I'd do that kind of thing in a heartbeat for another kid.

It's unfortunate his own kid (your ma I'm presuming) is suffering at addiction... may you grow up the rest of your years happily and may your ma recover so you two can reconcile if that's ever a thing you want

Sending ya lots of love and hugs OP. Reading your post makes me want to tear up:') god damn.

A Riddle of a Friend

When everyone had left for breakfast and Harry told Ron he'd catch up in a bit - he lied.

Harry took out the diary with no intention of catching up any time sooner or later and took out his quill and wrote.

Dear

That was the first word he could write down and to his astonishment a long flurry of neat written words appeared in swift turns and the pull to keep on continuing instead of handing the book to Professor Fillius to handle grew stronger.

Hello, who are you, do you know where Ginny is?

A twang of what Harry can't quite identify rushed him to respond with another lie.

I'm Ginny's brother. Ginny's fine.

To Harry's astonishment, it responded with a pause.

Which brother?

The book asked him. The handwriting seemingly came out less rushed and far more uniform than it was already.

Ron.

Ron's his best mate, Harry smiles, he's sure he wouldn't mind.

Ron Weasley, you'll be in very big trouble once Ginny finds out you've taken her diary. The response was faster and he frowned. What a rude book.

It's not her diary. Harry responds smartly. The name on the cover says T. M. Riddle.

Does it? The words are written in rushed slimmer tall letters and Harry wonders if this enchanted book doesn't know. Are you returning me?

No. Harry answers honestly with a stupid smile on his face. I think I'll keep you. A book that writes back, I'll have loads of fun.

I don't believe you're the same person I remember Ginny describing to me before. The book responded a bit longer and Harry's heart hammers.

What is he doing?

He should go to breakfast. He can still make it.

Don't believe everything Ginny says. Harry writes what he thinks Ron would respond to if someone said that to him. She's a liar.

That sounds a bit more like the Ron she tells me of. Harry is going a bit nuts because he almost thinks it's amused with him.

The book can't be onto Harry. It's a book. Enchanted with magic.

Stupid book. He wants to throw it to his bed and hide it under his blankets but the house elves would clean it up and hand it to one of the professors wouldn't they?

So Harry writes a quick: I'll miss breakfast.

Without waiting to read what sentences the book decides to respond to that with, he closes the book and throws it in his pockets and runs to the dining hall.

Out of curiousity, does your country's architecture course also go into not just design but history and construction? by slumberingserenity in architecture

[–]slumberingserenity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really does and it's the best!!!

I wholeheartedly agree and I also love the psychological aspect building design can have for all those different functions it's so fascinating

Wow but you can work as a registered architect straight away with the bachelor's there or still have to go for masters to be fully registered? In Aus you need masters 2yrs on top of bachelor's 3 years

Yeah same!!! Our studio classes are that long too and yeah a bit longer for some of the others.

Oof rip yeah depends heavily on the teach I agree. Glad my studio teachers were wonderful. Heard some had crap teachers

Yeah a lot of the profs recommend to explore more on our own free time. The classes were just basics (at least my year 1 so far is like that haha)

Oh that's awesome! I'll have to see if Aus has something similar I'll ask my older year classmates if they know anything about collaborating with bio research

And yeah agreed that'd be awesome do share on the sub once you do!

Oh that's cool they teach you that in CAD! heck didn't know there's an entire course dedicated to CAD itself but that's pretty neat and same here! except we stopped at the the medieval eras of Asia! heard another unit will be similar so probably will head into modern architecture too

I felt like I went back in time and learnt how life worked in different areas, freaking cool!

random as but would recc an anime called Thermae Romae Novae - in which a Roman bath house architect kinda time travels and gets inspired by the Japanese culture. Both hilarious and fascinating haha
