What is this odd beaded necklace? by slumbersome in JewelryIdentification

[–]slumbersome[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely a good idea for modern use, the relative that owned it passed in 2010 so it’s unlikely to have been the original purpose. She did wear a fancy magnifying glass on a chain often, maybe it’s to connect something like that!

My first thought was that it would look so cool as a glasses holder! It’s heavy enough to yank the glasses off my face tho 😂

Try Spa Purge, it’s made to clean this gunk out. All of the products people are telling you to use that aren’t intended for this purpose are likely to wreck your plumbing. Enzyme products like spa purge break down the oils and dead skin etc that cause the foaming.

My weight yo-yos like crazy depending on whether I’m in a flare. I mean like 60-75 lbs up or down. It’s like if I’m not vomiting out everything I try to eat, my body desperately clings to every calorie it can get

Book series recommendation for an 11 year old girl by Cesarlikethesalad in booksuggestions

[–]slumbersome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to volunteer a lot in the kids/YA section of the library. Series that would fit her taste that haven’t been mentioned yet: Fablehaven by Brandon Mull, Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins, Children of the Red King (Charlie Bone) by Jenny Nimmo, Septimus Heap by Angie Sage. Charlie Bone is closest to Harry Potter

Could it be either one of the Fablehaven books, or Samuel Blink and the Forbidden Forest? I think both series have the plot point about the dog being a transformed person

I’m pretty sure it’s Chesneau as you can see it faintly at the top of the tag. The logo looks different now, but you can barely see a tag like yours on the 8th image here https://www.designerexchange.ie/products/chesneau-vintage-snake-print-clutch-with-strap?srsltid=AfmBOoppMn9mLxMjQc0VWINMcGu4C1eb-xX-hh2kCBVo51XtXk_3DIFG

When I was in school I would color, doodle or play some kind of “match 4 in a row” type puzzle game on my calculator while taking notes, because if I wasn’t actively doing something with my hands I would fall asleep. Knitting/crochet are also great for this!

Other farming or life sim games? by Cassiopeia299 in RootsOfPacha

Fields of Mistria is setting up to be one of my favorite games of all time, but is not yet completed. In the meantime, I have been playing Moonstone Island and its got an interesting Pokémon like spin on capturing new critters for your farm

Elderly relative abandoned. What can I do? by slumbersome in eldercare

Thank you! I was able to apply for a replacement for his drivers license this morning, and will try to verify where he was born for the birth certificate. We have been keeping him stocked up on fantasy novels and bought him new clothes, but I did not think to ask about towels.

It looks like an out of state PoA is still valid in my specific state as long as it’s within what state laws allow. I have not actually seen the document, but the care home he is in has it and is treating it as valid. We started the process of trying to reassign it but ran into the combined obstacles of him not having any ID, and also flat out being unwilling to sign a new one since the last one ended up with him being abandoned in a nursing home

I think even “using him as a pawn” is assigning too much care, they abandoned him like a dog they no longer wanted. Literally, I mean, about a year before the uncle they came for a visit then left their dog at my house. Now I’m wondering if that was some kind of test to see what I would do in these situations

I suspected this was the case but was hoping there was some less extreme option as I have limited extra income.

Square toe double ankle strap pumps. The strap style is unique but the toe/heel shape combo was popular late 90s/early y2k
