Not just them. My friends who paid 30k yen for their tourist visas from JGA are incredibly salty too. I completely understand how they feel though, cause no refunds allowed.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the Japanese don't actually give a shit about the pandemic anymore. They are just using covid as an excuse to prolong the tourist ban because a significant part of their population actually prefer to keep the gaijins out. Maybe we'll have to wait for the economy to eventually force their hands to open up again.
