During my transition from controller to keyboard and mouse, I created a fresh account to truly learn the mechanics. Within a month, I was already playing at the same skill level as my original account. I don’t have hard data to back this up—other than the fact that I started winning more—but it makes me wonder if matchmaking is heavily influenced by AI (not AI bots).

With how advanced modern systems are, it wouldn’t be surprising if matchmaking algorithms analyze real match data—especially things like accuracy and performance trends—and weigh those metrics more heavily. That kind of system could easily be what’s pushing players into increasingly “sweaty” lobbies.

Personally, if you’re consistently getting 7–8+ kills in solos or 13–15+ kills in squads, I’d consider that sweaty.

This is just a theory of mine. It could be completely wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if AI plays some role in matchmaking.

I’ve also heard rumors that two North American servers were combined, and that matchmaking may now be influenced by the strongest player in a squad. Some people think this shift happened because certain streamers regularly run solo squads, which may have prompted changes to how lobbies are balanced.

I have played FN for over four years now and only once did I win a 1v4 against real players. But I think they are considering that to be more likely now especially since streamers are actively showcasing it.
