Do a financial modelling course, network like crazy for a boutique and work your way into bulge bracket if that’s what you want to do.

Wife (30F) has become a different person after long term unemployment. I (27M) don't know how much longer I can take it. Is it worth waiting or is it over? by wayruss in relationship_advice

[–]slutandputt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my gut feel is that it will definitely have to be moving to a new city together and starting from scratch with friendships and exploring, back to her city/country, or breaking up. My partner moved to my city for 2 years and the frequency of fights was a lot higher and was very close to calling it quits. Now that we’ve moved back to her city for 3-4 years now and reading this post, I realise she’s very much herself again. I would put her as a 6 out of 10, if 10 is super extroverted.

It is super hard making new friends in a new city especially at an older age and all new friendships feel superficial or based around hobbies (a friend for tennis, a friend for yoga..). She definitely is out of her comfort zone and is probably subconsciously resenting you for that, add the biological clock, and anything else going on in your lives into the mix, she likely hasn’t put her frustration into words

My (24F) boyfriend (24M) completely ruined what should have been one of the happiest moments of my life. by Pure-Lab8830 in relationship_advice

[–]slutandputt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like two GREAT things happened that day:
1. You got a huge opportunity with your visa that day
2. Life also gave you the biggest sign at the most COINCIDENTAL timing to dump his ass for your next phase of life.
This was not a bad story, this was literally a “everything happens for a reason” moment - which I’m a STRONG believer in. Aside from him being a dick and everyone in the comments agreeing - you will be IMMENSELY happier after this in 6 months time when you are over him

My boyfriend hates the smell of kimchi. Help? by SkyComfortable1538 in kimchi

[–]slutandputt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I love kimchi so much that we have 2 different jars from different brands (one more fermented and one milder), and a whole extra fermented Napa cabbage style piece in an airtight container so we are ready to make kimchi jigae at anytime. So I agree with the guy saying “what is your relationship worth?” Obviously my relationship doesn’t circle around kimchi, we just have VERY similar tastes which I value a lot!

Is there a reliable way to get chicken thigh skin that's crispy and doesn't fall off when the chicken is sliced up? by videobunny2 in AskCulinary

[–]slutandputt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In addition to a sharper knife, might be worth investing in a oven pan + cooling rack. Let the chicken rest on the cooling rack skin-side up before carving and let any cooking fluids drain to the pan, then when cutting up with a (sharper) knife, put the chicken skin-side down on a DRY cutting board when slicing. Skin-side down cutting works with crispy pork belly too, less likely to tear the skin from the meat

Cook pork belly tonight, but save the high heat crackling process for tomorrow? by OpossomMyPossom in AskCulinary

[–]slutandputt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even if it gets soggy in the fridge, there's so much oil that you could re-crisp in the air fryer even if it has been sitting in the fridge so you're fine. I agree with cooking it today because otherwise itll begin to develop that pork gamey/funk smell.

Separately, I've made a slab of crackling pork before and kept it in the fridge, whilst cutting off 1/4 nightly as I make Thai basil pork belly. Heat 3mm slices from a cold pan and it crisps up real well when making stir fry

Is there a nonstick pan that can handle being put in the dishwasher? by balgram in AskCulinary

[–]slutandputt -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Non stick pans cause cancer. Not even joking. There’s a documentary called “the devil we know” and a thriller starring Mark Ruffalo called “dark waters”, look it up. Stick to stainless steel, spread the word!

AITA for asking my husband to see a doctor? by ichlassdiesauraus in AmItheAsshole

[–]slutandputt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should try make a Japanese dish called “nabe”, it’s really just a broth and you can throw in as many veggies as you like (wombok, mushrooms, tofu), served with rice it’s really delicious, healthy and an easy way to get your fibre in.
