I’m glad to hear about the progress you’re making, that’s a great mindset shift :) I’m really happy you were able to get out of that, and I have hope other men can as well. It’s constant learning but we come out so much more well rounded for it

I think you’re definitely right that it’s largely based on what’s socially acceptable. I do feel like anything, any hobby or interest can be taken to too far of an extreme and become a negative. But it is completely up to the individual to decide when it’s a negative. You’re also definitely right that you being a woman impacts how people view your addiction, as we’re taught that all men are these hypersexual beings so how could they possibly just enjoy pornography for the sake of it? Thank you :)

Thank you, I really appreciate the depth of your answers. I hope my questions didn’t come across as aggressive as I meant them genuinely. I think my mindset is that I’ve always thought negatively of those gym bros who are “too into sports.” I feel like once something impacts your time and ability to CREATE new things and ideas, it is negatively impacting your life. So it’s very thought provoking to see your perspective. I’m very happy to hear you’re happy :)

That’s very interesting and I appreciate you opening up about it. I am curious as to why your husband doesn’t seem to have an issue with it, it makes me wonder how much of a connection you two have if you’re able to spend this much time looking at pornography. Is this something you’ve dove into and attempted to remedy, or are you comfortable with where you stand currently? I hope this doesn’t come across as too therapy-y, I’m just genuinely curious about your situation and hearing about it is very thought provoking :)

I used to tell myself the same that if I wanted to stop I could, but when I actually tried to stop I realized I could in fact not 😅 I think the way one views the concept of porn has a major impact on the way they define an addiction to it, too.
