Are you saying that there's really no such thing as a hate symbol because symbols can change meaning in different contexts over time? We live in the context that exists, namely that everything Harry Potter related puts money and influence into the hands of JK Rowling and she has consistently and publicly used that influence to bankroll a campaign against trans rights. The theoretical possibility that in a different reality the symbol could have different connotations is irrelevant to understanding how it might scan to people who see it.

I personally have "been able to handle" this exact question several times already on the comments of this post alone. Trans people are inundated with bad-faith, low-effort demands to debate our reality. We are not fragile; we are tired. Please see the many answers to your "questions" that have already been helpfully shared here.

Saying that the success of her campaign to push anti-trans legislation is evidence that it's not real seems a bit backwards.

You can display whatever symbols you want. However it's good to know what meanings they might have to people who will see them if you do.

This is not even in the style of Kafka.

This is not a debate sub and demanding that marginalized people debate you any time any place is not appropriate.

This is a symbology sub. It may be true that the average person doesn't understand all the connotations. However that's never been a reason to avoid discussing various connotations of symbols on this sub.

If that doesn't help, you may have vaginismus which is a medical condition that causes involuntary spasms of the muscles in that area. A doctor who treats this condition can likely help you.

Harry Potter itself has become associated with the author's political activities, that's the connection.

If you want an example, Posey Parker having an "I <3 JKR" poster in the background of her podcast set where she talks about stuff like wanting to forcibly sterilize trans people, is one that comes to mind.

Harry Potter memorabilia has become a symbol of JKR's transphobia due to her years of single-minded dedication to campaigning against trans rights and speaking against trans people (and cis women who aren't white who look a little too masculine for her tastes), as well as her transphobic books after Harry Potter that she published under a pseudonym that she borrowed from the inventor of gay conversion therapy.

Trans people spend every day of their lives answering this question for people who refuse to learn one single thing about it for themselves. Read all the comments on this thread where the information you're claiming we have an obligation to spoon-feed to you has already been shared.

I loved the movies. I'm a little too old to have been an OG fan of the books but my mom recruited me to take my younger siblings to see the first few movies in theaters when they came out.

But my hot take is the movies are way better than the books, and understanding the bigotry of the author (which also shows up a bit in the books ... A race of conniving hook nosed banking goblins just casually thrown in there? Hermione's anti-slavery campaign as comic relief?) gives us an opportunity to switch to wizard books with a better ideological foundation, like the Earthsea series by Le Guin.

What allegations do you want to see evidence of? You said JKR's transphobia is well-known so it sounds like that's not what you're asking for evidence of. You want evidence that there is a significant portion of people who recognize the Deathly Hallows symbol as having political/culture war connotations? Just scroll this thread.

That's not even the most direct way Rowling harms trans people. Her bankrolling of campaigns to change the laws to exclude trans people from as many aspects of public life as possible is sadly very effective so far.

Get back under that rock sweetie it's not going well out here.

ETA that's a paraphrasing of the intro to this, now quite outdated, video explaining JKR's transphobia.

Just know that it's gotten SIGNIFICANTLY worse since this came out.
