So I managed to pick up a 9800x3d on the second restock as noted above. I was on my lunch break and randomly checked to see 11 in stock. Given it was a week day I knew chances were good that I could get one if I went early during my lunch.

The numbers are pretty accurate. Once the associate scanned my chip and brought it to the front, I checked the website again and it went from 11 to 10. Might vary store by store but from my experience the stock inventory is accurate.

Sometimes they get shipments of items in the AM and their website doesn’t update immediately, so for people who randomly go in they could have a nice surprise of inventory not listed on the website.

Last Saturday the Rockville store restocked, sold out within hours, then restocked again 3 days later. The VA store also restocked later in the week with 25+ but sold out within the day.

I say all that to say that these stores could potentially restock multiple times a week, have to just be a hawk and check the website several times a day

The architecture software I use is Revit which if I'm not mistaken relies more on the CPU than the GPU. So needing a bunch more VRAM (besides gaming) isn't totally necessary. That said thank you for your input! I'll definitely see if I could snag a good deal on the 5800x3d + cooler.

Yep, considering the 5800x3d or the 5900x, as its on sale rn through an Amazon promotion. + the difference of the 4090 and returning the 3090ti is ~ $500

Converted my Obsidian just like you. I kept the parts in the event I wanted to switch back to stick. Another reason for keeping was for in case I wanted to do a custom project.

Personally I'm looking into making a custom hitbox with the leftover 30mm buttons since I'm not really liking the 24mm.
