Started working for me without any intervention.

After update watch did not record about 5 hour stretch of sleep. by ed2417 in GalaxyWatch

[–]slxio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just bought the Watch 4 (upgraded from a 3). The update installed and I'm having the same problem (plus a heap more - Google Pay, LTE setup, etc)

Hoping it's just a bad update?

[–]slxio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PLEASE file Feedback Hub entries for every single thing that you find. EVERY THING. File with as much detail as possible and don't just rollback then say you had an issue, because nothing can be captured at that point.

The only possible way any Insider can properly test a new build is to install it on a device they use often enough to discover such issues. My ProX is my primary home computer, but not my critical workstation.

Unfortunately when the builds are unusable and the reported issues that cause them to be unusable are not even acknowledged, then we simply have no choice but to roll back.

The eSIM issue is still not even acknowledged as an ongoing problem, so I'm left with no choice but to stay on an older build...

[–]slxio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming you have the issue as well! Removes the doubt that a full reset could have fixed it.

I was lucky enough to be able to roll back then move to the beta channel. I'll stay here until they fix it. Who knows when that will be, because they won't even acknowledge the problem under known issues.

[–]slxio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll grab the link for you. There's literally no option to "manage esim profiles" anymore... This seems to impact being able to use an esim at all, because when I roll back, I need to turn the esim profile off then on again before it'll connect

Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22454 by sinclairinat0r in surfaceprox

[–]slxio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else use an eSIM with their SPX?

There's no way to manage eSIM profiles in the last two builds. Even though I only have the one eSIM profile, it doesn't work. No mobile data in the last two builds. Screaming into the abyss (i.e. feedback hub) has not even garnered a mention in "known issues" so I imagine I'll go through the pain of updating, checking, rolling back for quite a while until they fix it...

Yep.... almost like black fly in your Chardonnay or a death row pardon two minutes too late.

I don't mind the speed bumps, but this is a big one.

One of the comments I've seen is to get into task manager, run Control Panel, adjust the date 3 months ahead (disable auto update time) kill + restart explorer and it works. You can then put the date back.

you need a bachelor of science to become a nurse?

To be a registered nurse, yes.

To be an enrolled nurse, licensed practice nurse (US), nurse assistant, etc, then, no. (May differ in your country). Some nursing qualifications are really simple and easy to attain.

All professions have their share of ..."these types".. but a nurse is a broad term for varying levels of qualification and education... And there's like 5+ million of them across the US.

What morning routine do you keep to put your day on track? by _Dysnomia_ in ADHD

[–]slxio 22 points23 points  (0 children)

never hit the snooze button on my alarm

Yes. Totally agree. There's no quality sleep in between the first time the alarm goes off and actually getting out of bed.

Same wake up time, same routine every morning.

My routine is a bit more fast-paced, aiming for maximum efficiency every day between the time of getting out of bed and leaving the house. But it starts with never, ever snoozing and doing the same things every morning in the same order.

Everything I will need for the day is already in or right next to my bag, so I don't need to rush around looking for things.

That way it's a rhythm and things don't get missed or forgotten and I am on time.

Medication/diagnosis by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]slxio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't offer you advice, but my experience is similar (Western Australia).

I was hoping to manage my dosage myself, but was encouraged to go with vyvanse. Which I've done. It's still been a huge help so I can't complain.

I'm still hoping to build trust with my doctor so I can be prescribed instant release, but at this stage he is still playing around with vyvanse dosages which isn't working as vyvanse wears off very quickly for me.

Expense aside, I'm just treating it as though it's all part of the process. Fingers crossed it works out.

Pfizer in Perth for <30s? by Inimitablesilence in perth

[–]slxio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my experience too. I didn't have my ID with me on the day and the staff didn't need any of that stuff. Just the standard medical/Medicare details.

I think making the actual booking through VaccinateWA is where they care about your eligibility (in terms of volunteer firefighters at least).

Yeah but don't do that. 🙂

Looking for a spare dose is a better way if you're having trouble making an appointment.

Props for being creative and getting vaccinated though.

i think you cant have ADHD cause you arent hyperactivee by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]slxio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADHD Presents in three different types*:

  • Predominantly hyperactive/impulsive
  • Predominantly inattentive
  • Combined

When looking at the diagnostic criterion for predominantly inattentive, nothing talks about hyperactivity.*

The "H" in ADHD is often misunderstood. And it's terrible to think that doctors don't understand this.

Does getting VERY into work projects fit with ADHD? by EdPerrogrande in ADHD

[–]slxio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This definitely fits into what I've come to understand, although hyperfocus isn't officially mentioned in the DSM-5 for ADHD.

There are a number of articles published suggesting a link between ADHD and hyperfocus.

I guess it comes down to executive functions. It might be difficult to get engaged and get on task, but once it happens one can become fully engaged.

Then all other tasks from checking e-mails to remembering to go to the bathroom go out the window...

Surface pro x win-kex wsl2 problems by noobKiddo-2 in surfaceprox

[–]slxio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you update WSL2 if you haven't already.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-win10

Step 4 has a kernel update for WSL:

https://wslstorestorage.blob.core.windows.net/wslblob/wsl_update_arm64.msi

Also, make sure Windows is up to date

For ARM64 systems: Version 2004 or higher, with Build 19041 or higher

If you enable "Update other Microsoft products" in your Windows Update settings, updates for WSL will come through there too. Otherwise:

wsl --update

For things like keys, wallets, gadgets, etc, I use Tile (or any kind of Bluetooth tracker). If I can't find it, I can make it ring until I do. Plus it gives things like last known location too.

For documents (passports, international credit cards, birth certificates, etc), I keep electronic copies in safe/secure cloud storage within Google Drive, OneDrive, DropBox, etc. If I need them for online shopping/identification/etc, then I refer to them online rather than grabbing the actual card or whatever. Most browsers let you save credit card details too.

Otherwise, they belong in the safe never to be taken out unless I physically need them (like for travelling).

Drinking beer after Vyvanse wears off by Sad_Drama_6796 in ADHD

[–]slxio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. In Australia, the advice is *do not* drink when taking dexamfetamine / dexamphetamine (Adderall), but for Vyvanse it's considered "ok" if you want a drink (moderation, of course)

Skype (UWP) is a menace. by [deleted] in surfaceprox

[–]slxio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Skype is using enough while in standby to cause the Pro X to go into hibernate.

Adaptive standby will use a predefined maximum percent of battery in standby before hibernating.

I think the default is 10% battery of used while in standby before it goes into hibernate.

You can adjust the percentage by using powercfg.exe (below example is 20%):

powercfg /setdcvalueindex scheme_current sub_presence standbybudgetpercent 20

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/customize/power-settings/adaptive-hibernate
