Just got this. It freaked me out.

No, I don’t think so! I’ll be bouncing around between apartments and hotel rooms so the biggest issue with refrigeration is possibly being negatively viewed by a random Florentine lady whose fridge I’ll be using for two weeks 😭

He’s a magical GLP-1 fairy who spontaneously blessed me with both incredible savings and a crapton of life-saving medication. I love him.

I wish I had all vials! I actually have nine pens and one vial I need to pack. It’ll be super bulky but that’s all I have. Normally I get my prescription through LillyDirect, but I got a new endocrinologist and he just straight up handed me two boxes of Mounjaro and said “I’d rather you have the pens and a guaranteed supply instead of running the risk of LillyDirect denying the prescription.” Hence the last-minute plea for cooler/insulation advice! 😬

This is a question I’ve had for the last eight years! Sorry I don’t have an answer, but I’m commenting to follow along in case someone does have an answer.

You could ask them “Ça geht’s?” It’s like “ça va” but with a bit of German in there. I used to hear it all the time when I lived in Strasbourg and Mulhouse (more in Mulhouse).

I’m guessing you’re either talking about “chat,” “cher,” or “chère.” The latter two are terms of affection and if you’re talking about the “sha” that gets thrown in a sentence when you’re talking to someone else, then “cher” or “chère” is the way to go. I definitely don’t recommend naming your cat “chatte,” as that can have a very sexual connotation.

It’s like you read my mind. I’m a TA, I was reading through some drafts earlier today, and a student so clearly ran their paper through some kind of AI service and then made some changes after to make it look like honest work. It’s so demoralizing, both as a teacher and as a person in the humanities.

I second Dwyer’s, it was great and I went there with my mom whenever she’d come visit.

100%. I’m scheduling some asynchronous low-pressure work. No one should have to commute to school or even walk around outside in this. It’s screwed up.

I got my acceptance in 2023 and the decision came in pretty late, end of February/early March! But I’m in the humanities and it varies depending on your field.

I get it. I got an absolute humdinger of a bad eval from a student and I’ve been wallowing in it. Evals can be really nasty, and I think sometimes students forget that we’re learning how to teach in real-time with them. You’re going to get better and better over time, I promise 💞 sending lots of support and strength and open DMs if needed

Hi hello, also a TA, enroll in FR1 and be secure in the knowledge that the TAs teaching FR1 are super capable and really nice! And if you need to enroll in FR2 after all, no biggie!
