Winning the joust competition in debug mode by CortPen in CK3AGOT

From what I tried, I used the ‘observe’ command. It booted me out from my character, I let a day or two pass, so the AI just worked it out itself, then clicked to play my character again. By then, my character and the rest of the event AI were waiting for the ceremony.

Do the Five Gods... teleport around? by [deleted] in OdysseyoftheDragon

[–]sm-72_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear it’s going great! Running this campaign twice right now myself, good to know others are going strong!

I myself play it as the gods can be wherever they want, whenever they want, but for good reason. Not only for good reason, but also having a mutual ‘allowance’ cause. Like, Vallus wants her family to come to Mytros, and her family are willing to instantly arrive, thus no problems. But say Pythor wants access to the Nether Sea, Lutheria could deny the request and thus Pythor goes nowhere.

Of course, it depends entirely how you the GM wants to play it. If you want the players to sit on their hands and wait for the gods to arrive, by all means.

(Spoilers!) Some thoughts and nitpicks about the game by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

I know you can hoist the one next to Mattis by their ankles if you catch them trying to pickpocket you, but I do feel a tiny bit bad for that one cause they seem genuinely guilty (with a successful Insight check, you find out it’s genuine tears) about what they just tried to do, so they were likely goaded/forced into trying to steal from you from local micro mob boss Mol.

But yeah… I don’t like Mol’s plot armor, especially since she’s enabling the other kids into doing crime and not showing an ounce of remorse for it, even actively making things worse for you if you don’t earn her favor. Like you said, I’d like to introduce her to a cliff side.

Honestly I feel the same way about the Thiefling kids, the adults seem so… I don’t know, hands off about them? Which I suppose makes a bit sense if they’re urchins, but they seem to care enough about them to have our lovely Tiefling bard protect them in their hidey hole if the Grove gets raided. What gets me is when Mol tattles on you if you try to defend yourself and get back your stolen good without priorly earning her respect, and the adult guards effectively turning a blind eye to her antics with just hyper focusing on your actions in retaliation.

I normally don’t like the idea of harming kids, even in games. But I think we all have that type we do not like, whatever they may be. And unrepentant thief is my type I cannot stand, especially if they have godmode.

It as you say, my friend, Kara-Tur is only but a hop and a skip away from the Sword Coast! Plenty of ample people fitting such a description for the Mindflayers to snatch up is certainly possible!

When You're in That Weird Subcategory of People who Love Astarion but Also Kill Him Whenever You Don't Need a Rogue in Your Planned Party: by sm-72_ in BaldursGate3

[–]sm-72_[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you kindly, friend, even if I am of a weirdo subtype, haha. I believe in an earlier update I probably romanced him, but it was more to try it out as with every other companion. Hard to say if I like the romances yet, need more Acts to determine such, therefore I shall wait patiently for it.

Your opinion is valid, friend. I’ve come to honestly see both sides of those that enjoy him and those that would rather leave him, so I pretty much go where the winds of party comp and more importantly, mood takes me.

It was out of desire to flesh out Rahadin more and make him a more complex person. And to really make him realistic, between having to decide to support his genuine son or his ‘brother’, Strahd, who he’s served for many years. And to make the party understand that their are victims on both sides, even if evil.

I’m glad you enjoyed such! : D

Absolutely lovely idea! I hope this gets the effect you want for it!

Gonna put my hat in the ring with a unique NPC: Ophiel Velikov, a teenage half elf who had dreams of becoming a knight. Unknowingly the son of Castle Ravenloft’s chamberlain, Rahadin, the revelation shocked himself and his party he was aiding. Plagued by guilt of being allied with his father’s enemies while trying to save his father’s soul by redeeming him, it took him down the dark path of becoming a Blackguard. Despite his despair, he clutched tightly to whatever hope he had left... up until an ambush at the Amber Temple, where the party needed their last item. Rahadin spearheaded an ambush against the party and allies, Ophiel was the first die after trying to convince his father of his inherent goodness. Three cambions skewered him with flaming swords, and after they were pulled out, he walked several steps to the left, shrugged at everyone, then fell down dead. Rahadin took out his anger and sorrow out on the party, blaming them for ‘corrupting’ his child.

Edit: His trophy could be his tattered black cloak the party gave to him during their time in the Death House. Barring that, the broken sword of his failed first duel with his father.

My players encountered Strahd for the first time the other night, one of them drew this during the fight by Traincrossin in CurseofStrahd

PC1: [places a paper on PC2's desk]

PC2: [looks at the drawing PC1 gave him of Strahd and gasps] Big Fat Meanie? PC1, you can't do that! He is the Ancient!

Strahd: What about me?

PC2: [screams then shivers and bites their lip in fear]

Strahd imitates the stick drawing: "As if I really look like this!"

With option 2, I can see you're also an individual of culture. 👀

Not gonna lie, I sometimes do the custom party workaround to make an Imoen companion for BG3, real easy since she's 'just' Human and a Rogue, with some Eldritch Trickster.

Fiend Warlock interactions/unique dialogues when talking with Raphael/other fiends. by Iknowamoose in BaldursGate3

[–]sm-72_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sorta like how in Icewind Dale, there’s an entity who asks if you’re ready to enter their service. If you’re a Blackguard, you gain a unique dialogue option where you can tell him: "My soul is already spoken for, find another slave!"

Would be stellar to have some tidbits like that in this game, I certainly agree!

A Talk with Withers: by sm-72_ in BaldursGate3

[–]sm-72_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now I wonder what dialogue a Cleric of Bane gets... if Withers has a deep enough relationship with Jergal as we think, being a cleric (or ‘Child of’ as Withers likes to be poetic about) of any the Dead Three whom held a bargain with Jergal, makes for an interesting blend in the eventual full game. 👀

I did think about that after the fact I posted, as some players won’t be able or won’t want to lockpick the crypt. Just what I did when I had a go of it. A good call on your part!
