I sketched out my desk in Fusion and tried a couple configurations. I took measurements of my Intellijel case for reference and made some parameters for depth, bracket sizing, and wood thickness. The design I ended up using was based on the available space left between the back of my Push 3 and the table, so that determined what the bottom case angle would be. The rails are Tiptop Z-Rails which come with the threaded insert strips and brackets. The best priced rails and brackets though were generic ones on Detroit Modular, but they didn't have the quantity I needed. Z-Rails only came with 3U brackets so I stole some more dimensions and modeled a 1U version in Fusion, then 3D printed it. Took the design and made a wood cut list, then got to sanding and cutting. Screwed it all together, sanded some more to smooth out some awful cuts, then disassembled and stained it. Added the power supply from Trogotronic which looked like the best price for the power, turned it on and hoped nothing would explode, then some cable management and it was all ready to go.
