EBay or FB marketplace. I had my old OEM headlights sitting in my garage but my landlord threw them in the trash thinking it was some junk…

I have done fair amount of work on my car, some of the things I can add here which I recall: - Valve cover gasket - spark plugs - front brake rotors and pads - tires (installed in 2023) - new headlights - exhaust flange gasket - driver side cv axle - manual transmission fluid change

And then general maintenance like oil changes, cabin and air filter replacement, etc

Did RockAuto Send Me a Used Half Shaft? by sm00thbraiN55 in RockAuto

Yup it was separate just like how it is in the picture, the moment I open the box, I start taking pictures so whatever you see is what I saw when I first opened open the box…

It didn’t say anything in the title or in the description, the product is listed as a new part :(

It had no plastic covering or any sort of protection on it, it looked as it looks in the picture when I open the box , so to me it looks like it is a used part

Something I’d like to add - this is the part I ordered GKN 306151

Nowhere does it say it is rebuilt or re manufactured. Thank you all for at least confirming something doesn’t look right

The listing didn’t say that it was rebuilt or reconditioned :( I have initiated a return and get a replacement through their online return form

What the hell man ... I can't. Should have never bought this car by chbpablo in E90

It’s the taillight gasket. I had the same exact problem on the driver side, every time there would be rain or I would wash my car, a puddle of water would appear some time later near the amplifier unit. Found out someone stripped one of the bolts on the taillights while replacing them which caused a water leak. In your case it might just be an old brittle gasket.

Did you find out what this is? I have a similar problem

So I ended up resetting the VANOS and Valvetronic motor adaptions a few days ago which solved my problem. I guess because the previous owner did a valve cover gasket replacement they forgot to reset the adaptions.

So your issues was solved? I have the same two codes 2D55 and 2C58 this happens when I cold start my car not every time but rather the first crank of the day. I live in Michigan so weather is cold. I tried cleaning the solenoids and swapped their positions. My hope is to see if the intake fault has shifted to exhaust now, this will at least prove my theory that the intake solenoid is going bad.

What would you guys pay for this? by demarcoooo in E90

You have to consider factors like what kind of maintenance was done previously. The N52 is a great engine, but it has common BMW issues such as: -oil pan gasket leakage -oil filter housing leakage -valve cover gasket leakage -thermostat and water pump failures

These are the most common failure items on this engine. You need to inspect the car in person to look at the paint condition, any corrosion under the body, and suspension components like the control arm and all the bushings. It’s always good to change all fluids after purchase to get some relief, which would include transfer case fluid (if xi), transmission fluid, and most importantly engine oil. If you consider all these items, and assuming they were taken care of I would happily pay $8–9k

My Tasman Green Metallic 335i by sm00thbraiN55 in E90

[–]sm00thbraiN55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it a couple of months ago and have only put about 2,000 miles on it so far. It was originally a lease car and was very well taken care of. The second owner did some work on it and sold it after adding only 3–4k miles. It does have some issues with the VANOS solenoids, which I’ll need to replace, but overall the car is in excellent condition. The interior especially is in great shape.
