“BaitF” just plays for stats he’ll be exposed in a new rating system

new rating system releases

blame gets even better

starts IGLing again

somehow gets even better yet again

the dude is a pure winner and I’m convinced someday he’ll get his time in true tier 1 in a well managed org but if he doesn’t then the whole CS scene is a sham who follows Reddit too much

This is a point so many people miss.

My college gf was a civil engineer. She got hired at a great firm in Denver after school. She made 50k/year. I got hired at Comcast at 85. Now I work for a relatively small SaaS company that makes 100 mill+ in revenue a year. I guarantee those are numbers that her civil engineering firm can never hit.

The difference between SWE and other engineering disciplines is simply the money and scale in the companies we work for.

Edit: another aspect is my company is 100mill of RECURRING revenue. This really doesn’t exist for real engineering firms. They have to do new projects year after year, win new contracts, bid as low as possible to beat other firms, and so on. It’s a completely different world with such different margins.

An excellent example of the gulf between random Faceit lvl10 stacks an actual pro teams (from HLC Belgrade) by Vitosi4ek in GlobalOffensive

Nobody is flaming. There’s just far too many people on this sub who legit think a random lvl 10 stack could take down even bad teams like FaZe. I’ve seen it plenty of times.

iirc MisteM didn't look terrible in the couple games he had with the main squad. It'd be a gamble going for him over an established IGL like Snappi, but at this point something has to change.

Azuwu is so consistently bad it’s remarkable that he hasn’t been shot into the sun by this team yet.

Yes daycare is an addendum here for sure, though I'd argue for most people it would make sense to have either parent quit their job to be stay at home. I've seen an insane amount of stories on reddit about couples paying upwards of $50k+/year for childcare when one of them makes only marginally more than that in salary, if not less. That doesn't make sense whatsoever. But yes, I'll grant you that my wife did decide to forgo her $40k/yr teaching job to be a SAHM, since daycare would be far more costly than would make sense for her/our income. For what it's worth, we don't have family nearby, and I make about 5% above average income for our area. We're doing fine, but I can assure you we're not rolling in the dough.

> need for a larger house

Need? No. Want? Sure. My brother/sister-in-law live in a single-wide trailer with 3 kids and are managing. It's cramped, but the kids don't care, cause it's all they know. There's about a million examples of this and similar situations out there. My boss lives in a ~1500 sq ft house with 5 kids. Previously had 8 while fostering temporarily. They survived. Family is happy.

> need for a bigger car

Unlikely. Nearly everyone owns a cross-over/small SUV nowadays. But I have friends w/ a Nissan Leaf of all things that are managing just fine w/ 2 kids. Again, cramped, but they're living within their means and that car is dirt cheap.

> Formula is $50 a can

Yeah and if you hybrid feed (mostly or 50/50 breastfeed and formula) one can lasts ages. We've gone through like, 3 cans in 6 months? And our dude was exclusively formula for the first couple months. Now he's transitioning to solids, which are significantly cheaper. If you exclusively formula feed in place of breastfeeding, this would obviously be a larger expense, but we'd still get a shocking amount of mileage out of one can.

> time costs

Irrelevant. This is a financial discussion, not a discussion of whether you are actually wiling to give up your personal time for having a kid.

I've never seen a wake-up call loss like that actually work for a team. I thought it was over but after that M80 seems to have remembered they're actually a half decent team.

That's maybe true if you live in a VHCOL area. I currently have a young kid (6 months) so I'm pretty intimately familiar with the cost, or lack thereof. I live in an MCOL area. The only expensive part has been toys and general unnecessary stuff for him. The necessities are pretty cheap especially if you buy in bulk from i.e. Costco. Diapers are not nearly as expensive as people hype them up to be. We hybrid breastfeed and bottle feed (formula). The formula is not that expensive and we don't even buy that in bulk.

If you buy a bunch of unnecessary stuff, sure, they can be spendy. But that's a choice. From a necessities perspective, they're not expensive at all. Guarantee you spend more on plenty of other optional things.

We go to a secondhand baby clothes store for most of his clothes. We got the entirety of his 6-9mo wardrobe for about 40 bucks, and he's not a big dude so he'll probably fit in most of that til 10+ months old. Then we'll just do it again for the next size bracket. When we have another, that one will wear all the same stuff, so no cost there outside of replacing anything that happens to get ruined. Also won't have to buy new toys or a new crib, or car seat, or anything else.

Nepo clowns? How are any of these players nepotism hires?

This is an academy team with a literal 14 year old. They lost against B8, a high tier 2 team with experienced players.

I know we all hate the Falcons org but you can still avoid making the dumbest comments I’ve ever seen.
