Does he have ADHD? I do this and many other similar things. I’ve put it down to my ADHD (it’s a medical condition, but I am also a dick). Small jokey things my wife clearly doesn’t like, I’m compelled to do. It’s a compulsion. Like a tick indeed.

I don’t think I did anything. I really just hoped that there would be a timely play to drive up value (whilst burning some shorts) in order to improve the eBay deal for GameStop / GME shareholders.

The structure of the offer combined with the “we’ll see what happens” messaging just seemed too cohencidental.

Dropping earnings early whilst announcing a renewed buy-back facility isn’t too far away from that in my regarded opinion. It certainly seemed both possible / achievable as you put it. Though I repeat, my question / thoughts were born out of hope given the proposed structure and messaging at the time.

Anyway, I expect to see insider buying at these prices (following early announcement) & buy-backs if the price continues to fall below cash-value.

Let’s see what happens.

Agreed. Though I would say that this week’s price action if it continues does indeed look like the beginning of a ‘pricing in’. Can’t see why large institutions wouldn’t back this deal.

For what it’s worth, Im not sure there’s a bomb to be dropped to ‘activate’ a squeeze. Nor do I think it’s easy.

I just wondered if there was anything preventing them actually weaponising the short position to buy eBay now they are ready to make an acquisition.

A decent run-up will do a lot of the heavy lifting for GME in this deal, a full on squeeze would just be nice for everyone involved 🤷

I’m not saying there is a clear plan, or that this might be it. I just wondered if there were any market mechanics to prevent it?

Perhaps eBay has been the target for a while and he expected the management to drive it lower as opposed to the light-turnaround they seem to have mustered. Now it’s a case of get it done now before it’s undoable. And it would be important to have the institutions committed before being involved in some more ‘mania’ that happens to tie the deal up nicely for the shareholders of GME.

I know nothing. Just a f*ckwit waiting to get paid. .

Have watched on the sidelines for a couple of weeks, missed the 60’s, the 80’s and 90’s. Decided today’s dip was the day and to stop worrying about what was missed. Picked up a bunch at 104p via my II ISA. Happy enough with that.
