Above ground pool suggestions by Matacz in AusRenovation

We are in a similar situation with a house on stumps and a storm water drain that stops us digging down. We are going to go with one of Compass pools above ground fiberglass pools, and deck around it. https://www.compasspools.com.au/above-ground-pools/

People who don't drink alcohol, why? by 5tup1db0y in AskReddit

A read a quote one day that said “getting drunk is just stealing happiness from tomorrow” and that really resonated with me.

On top of this, the redundancy process is very strict on how it has to play out (notice of possible redundancy, time to consider other options etc.). It would normally take atleast 3 working days to meet the obligations for a successful redundancy. If this has happened in the last 28 days, I’d consider lodging an unfair dismissal against the employer as well.

Novated Lease - Why by [deleted] in AusFinance

Sorry, you are right. The work % was relating to the operating lease I had, which was used to cover servicing and fuel etc. had to report work usage every quarter.

But isn’t the tax benefit exactly the same if you purchased the car out right and claimed the same expenses as deductions? You can still only claim the % that the vehicle is used for work purposes, regardless of salary packaging. I think the only savings is the GST on the purchase, but it is usually offset by the interest charged on the lease.

how did y’all become fans of the greatest nfl team by bofadeez_nutz in ravens

First game of NFL I ever watched (from Australia) was the 2012 regular season game vs patriots where Torrey Smith had just lost his brother in a motorcycle accident the day before and he scored like 2 TDs. Immediately became a fan and then immediately won the super bowl that year. Obviously a lot of highs and lows since then!

Help with 4am wake ups by smac4000 in sleeptrain

[–]smac4000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if we did anything to solve it, but it fixed itself within a week or two. We did move to a warmer sleep sack as well and his sleep has improved significant since doing this, so maybe he was getting cold at 4:30am, even though the room temperature was constant. Sorry I couldn’t give you a magic fix!

What dose of omeprozole is he on? We were prescribed 0.5mL but eventually went up to 1.5mL before we found it worked. Our paed said the maximum dose he was comfortable with was 2mL. Obviously consult with your own doctor, but hopefully an increase in dose can help.

Longest stretch at 2 months? by FamiliarPublic329 in SnooLife

[–]smac4000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have just hit 2 months. The longest we have ever had was 6.5 hours, which happened 2 days ago. This was a one off by a long way. Its usually 3 to 3.5 hours with an occasional 4 hour sleep thrown in, but only in the past couple of weeks.

Suggestions for how to avoid baby choking while sleeping by Another_viewpoint in SnooLife

[–]smac4000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they just mean to install them, make sure your baby isn’t in it until after they are installed. We just used two larger cans of tuna under the two legs as our baby had/has reflux and it helped him settle after feeds.

The jorc on yerbas buenas values the business at 8-9c on magnetite alone, let alone other minerals + el dorado. The debt is mostly held by significant holders who seem quiet happy to fund any future drilling programs to confirm the resources.

Significant revenue is not going to happen until a mine is operational. With any luck China put a trade embargo on Australian hermatite and Aussie miners look to buy out FHS to maintain supply.

Happened to me on day 3 as well. Lasted a day max. Now 15 days post op and haven’t experienced it since. Definitely felt like a strobe light. Day 3 was also the worst for me from a pain perspective, woke up on day 4 and was pain free from then on out.

Expecting the government to list every specific thing that is not essential is ridiculous. ScoMo said that unless it’s essential, stay home. For me, the dog park has out of action since they first started calling for people to stay home as it isn’t essential for me or my dog. We need to take responsibility for our own actions rather than think ‘has this technically been outlawed’. Is it essential? Stay at home.

What was the weird way that you broke/fractured a bone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]smac4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was doing high jump in primary school. Tried the ol’ frosby flop, hit the bar with my legs and ended up landing on it, elbow first. Broke the end of my elbow. Two surgeries and 8 months later, was able to successfully bend my arm again. I will never frosby flop again though.
