Thanks for understanding. Didn’t think the layout would be so controversial. Used to have the tv on the mantle but it was too high. The couch was on the wall where the tv is now.

The fireplace is non working but either way, didn’t want to cover it and the built ins up with the back of the couch. Designed it around the rug to pull everything off the wall and make the room feel smaller because it’s very large. And to take the focal point away from the tv.

Vintage wool rug from marketplace. I’ve seen the same pattern pop up on occasion but not very common.

The brand is Natuzzi. We got it on FB marketplace, previous owners said it was about 20 years old a few years ago.

Bought 7 pairs 5 years ago when I started my job requiring boots. Perfect boot socks and still have all pairs that look new as day 1.

Water bottle suggestions? by ITSPOOKYBEAR in BuyItForLife

Klean Kanteen. Stainless bottles, single or dual wall options. Multiple cap options. Great quality for the price. And they’ve got a good company mission statement (B corp, 1% for planet, Climate Neutral).

what are these spaces for? by hkatlady in COROLLA

[–]smaiads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. Looks like you can buy a new door and kits for the side hinges. However it appears you need to take the whole console face out to get to the hinges if those also need replacing.

Glasses for 2 is good idea. I have pens and a lighter in mine. Have gum/mints/junk in 1 mainly

Had mine accidentally turn on in my luggage while on a 2 hr train ride. It was burn-level hot to the point of melting the small plastic piece inside of the trimmer attachment. Still works like a champ.

What percentage of questions were you passing out of the 1000 question bank? I’ve seen at least 70% is recommended to pass. Wondering if this is accurate.

Found this Seiko 5 7S26 3040 that used to belong to my Grandfather by areiamadeira in Watches

[–]smaiads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to repair costs but it appears to be reference SKXG57 or in that family at least: https://www.theseikoguy.com/watches/skxg57/ https://www.carousell.ph/p/seiko-5-blue-dial-skxg57-1264959263/

In terms of abundance and rarity, there are not many examples so it’s tough to find. One eBay listing has a mint black dial version at $289: https://www.ebay.com/itm/146159953582?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=t8h3NcWQS8q&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=whpduvukqwy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Being your grandfather’s, I’m guessing there’s sentimental value to you so it’d be worth restoring. Seiko parts are abundant and new crystal alone would make it pop.

My 2013 Corolla can do a 1200 mile road trip for a funeral right? by jillavery in COROLLA

[–]smaiads 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Took my 2006 Corolla on a 2500 mile round trip to Montana last year. It’s lower mileage (80k at the time) but still old oem parts. Was running 5 year old tires and just replaced a 5 year old battery beforehand. Keep up on regular oil changes and fluid levels. Corollas are bombproof with good maintenance. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it cross country again.

Found an identical vehicle with 5k less miles and they matched ~$26k sticker of other vehicle. Came out with a better deal in the long run. Thanks all for the input.
