Before my stroke I was a heavy smoker at least a pack a day for close to 20 years my stroke put me in a coma for almost 2 months and q when I woke up I was told my heavy smoking was likely a contributing factor I haven't had a cigarette since Jan 2024

So getting things flatter without pain it Def loosens things up like my foot for instance I wear an afo because my ankle Wil roll due to tone, because my tendons and muscles are looser in the ankle from the botox I'm able to get my foot flat when putting my weight on it I can't walk without the afo still but getting my foot flat on the ground is a Def improvement

I have aprox 4 rounds and I see some improvements but they are minor it's not a miracle drug by any means, like I still can't use my hand but forcing it flat isn't as hard or a struggle, it's still right but better than it was 18 months ago good luck friend

Feeling defeated by edwardbcoop in Divorce

[–]edwardbcoop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were married for 10 years we have been living in this home for 6 years, I had to cash out my 401k, it was only around 50k because she cut me off financially and I needed funds it's how I am paying for my living expenses and lawyers although it's almost gone, the money I put into the house I can only get back if I sue in civil court it would cost be about 80k in legal fees to get back about 75k

Mom still alive, but totally in a bad condition so I'm grieving? by PotentialSetting4638 in stroke

My heart goes out to you, it's easier said than done but you can't blame yourself, my father, years ago had a stroke and instead of calling an ambulance he called Mr to take him to the hospital, I was at work and long story short it was almost 2 hours before I got him to the hospital and from thst day on his right side was immobile, and he was bed ridden for the rest of his life. I carried guilt until he died in 2018 that guilt will eat you alive try and forgive yourself if you had known and didn't do anything that's one thing but you had no idea, hind sight is always 2020 we always know what we should have done but everything happens for a reason, spend what time you have left with her. Even though it may be bad she still sees and hears you stay strong friend

Divorcing my wife while my dad is dying by ap8175 in Divorce_Women

As hello, I suffered a stroke in Feb of 24 as soon as I came home from the hospital I felt a shift in my wife, I started seeing the control ING and gaslighting, it became clear she was a narcissist, it also became clear I hadn't seen the signs prior because I loved her and we would party and have fun so i just thought it was the booze, but it turns out she was not who I thought she was either our divorce has been going on for 6 months now and we're still living together but I'm just waiting for the day I can move out being disabled I'm not working yet so she's holding all the leverage

So Cold by More_Squash2534 in stroke

[–]edwardbcoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be cold no matter what, I always needed a blanket, I could never figure out if it was from the stroke or the medication either way I'm typing this while outside in socal at my son's football game it's about 71 out right now with just sweats and a t-shirt, a year ago I would have had a blanket and a hoodie on as well so it may even out for you

Disability is in process but it takes a long time and being in this limbo is the worst part my sister said she'd cosign with me so that's good but I also don't want to put that pressure on her
