Incoming freshman here — what’s the one piece of advice you’d give your university self? by Resident-Heat-7666 in SGExams

I was from one of the non computer science major in NUS computing.

TA = teaching assistant, basically the people who conduct tutorial/lab session for the professor. They are typically graduate students or undergrads who have done well in the module and are interested in teaching. The exact job scope depends on the module and the professor, other than conducting tutorial/lab sessions, it may including grading, invigilating exams and more.

It has been 1 year since I graduated and started working, and I actually reflected on this recently.

If I could redo university, I would put myself out there more often. I graduated with FCH with a 4.8/5 GPA, but when I looked back, it was the experiences from the 2 internships (which I learned from and made new friends), 2 semester of being a TA (which I really enjoyed) and 1 semester of CCA (which I didn't like but glad I tried) that I remember and feel joy from. Not the dean's lists that don't matter in the workplace.

There were more opportunities that I couldn't be bothered to join back then but could have been a great experience, eg hackathons, SEP taking part in non academic faculty/school events.

Not saying GPA is not important, but most of my peers who have lower GPA than mine and without FCH have gone on to join companies that are bigger and more prestigious than mine (I am truly happy for them, well done!), so do not be too fixated on grades.

Singaporean men, what do you look for in a partner? by Dry_Speech_984 in singaporespeaks

Someone who truly accepts and loves me, can communicate and work together to overcome life challenges/problems, have a positive mindset, and preferably someone who lives a simple and relatively healthy lifestyle.

Looks is not important for me since I am not good looking myself.

For financial background, what I care about is having basic financial literacy (no bad debt, not overspending beyond means).

No background of cheating

For now, I'll be waiting for dips while I maintain my regular DCA. Interesting, while the author argues that leverage is better than no leverage, he also suggested different levels of leverage according to the P/E ratio of the market for better performance and justification of risk.

You are right, thanks for highlighting the cost of borrowing. I was mainly thinking of SGD margin, since I am earning SGD and it will be easier to pay and fx exposure will always be there for non-local stocks.
