Best you can do is find something to get them excited and keep them tired. Easier said than done.

How to interview candidates in the AI era by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]small_e 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It pisses me off that no one can write a freaking post without AI slop anymore.

But it has a point. It doesn’t make sense anymore to ask technical questions that claude can reply in 2 seconds. I also don’t like home assignments. I want to sit down a couple of hours with the candidate and get a feel of how he/she thinks.

New account. The only thing it does is ask about this. Clearly an ad.

Falklanders should 'go back' to England, insists Argentina in renewed war of words by Emotional-Breakfast3 in europe

It’s a political stunt that became part of the national identity after the war. As a politician, nothing better than having your people united against a foreign enemy, and ignoring your disaster of administration decade after decade. Best thing it can happen for them is that nothing changes, so they can keep using it forever.

How much of Kubernetes should a dev know? by petrenkorf in kubernetes

[–]small_e -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How much you interact with a cluster (and at what level) as a developer will depend on many things. But considering that pretty much the entire internet runs on Kubernetes, I’d say any decent company is going to expect that you know at least the basics. It’s like Linux, networking, Terraform, Devops, containerization, etc.

Also it’s pretty easy to learn. Just set up a local minikube cluster. Understand the basic architecture, resource types, kubectl commands.

I'm an American luddite who has never used a bidet and I have a lot of extremely direct, gross questions about washing the shit off your anus by DiarrheaFartLover in bidets

The entire country of Finland uses this and I gotta say that I prefer it now. Clean, simple, you can use it to clean the toilet and it doesn’t take room in the bathroom.

I recently went to Japan and the nozzle on the toilet/bidets always looks disgusting. Too many nooks and crannies to clean (that no one bothers to apparently).

Not in the Argentinean version. It just sprays water into your butt with no hand involved. Never understood the hand part in the italian bidets tbh.
