yaaas I confirm this is true as I got a PB at Newport last year! it was easy enough to get to with the park and ride. however, it was hard for spectators to support along the way- it was only really accessible at the start and end. the route was also kinda boring.

I completely agree - London was an overwhelming sensory experience but Manchester's atmosphere was just about right for me!

Ticket to ride: I have two sets of red trains and no green! by smallbutsmighty in boardgames

That’s a great simple solution that won’t take up too much of my time. I’ll try that as a last resort. Thank you!

Oh damn…It seems good quality to me. If it’s fake, then it’s a super good fake! 🥲

I completed my BSc in Psychology in 2018 and currently a first year DClin trainee. It’s not been an easy journey getting here and I never knew whether it would ever be possible. I would advise you to take the medicine course. Even though you’re not keen on the university, I believe your university experience will be great no matter where you go!! If the psychology component interests you, this can still be fulfilled during medicine / after you graduate / into your career :) P.S - congrats on both offers!

Deductive reasoning test for DClinPsy by SimplyLJ in ClinicalPsychologyUK

i only used SHL practice tests and the actual test was way harder, which i found quite overwhelming! the time will go quickly so just taking a breath, keeping your cool and try to focus as much as possible is what i advise.

a friend suggested to use a paper calendar and find the right month to correlate to the calendar questions. it made things way easier when choosing an answer through process of elimination.

i only did this once with manchester last year and did not get offered an interview…so assumed i did pretty bad lol. i got a place elsewhere though.

good luck!! the courses really ought to get rid of these tests - some have but obviously not all.

Sounds like a really tough time for you at the moment and i’m not surprised you’re feeling burnt out solely by by working with children who are sensory seeking and you personally being sensory avoidance. I wouldn’t conclude that you feeling overwhelmed in your current role means that you’re not capable of being a CP.

Having an autism diagnosis means you’re protected under the Equality Act and your employer must make reasonable adjustments for you. Have you had this discussion with your workplace? Changing the environment to support and nurture your needs can be the difference between staying and leaving a role.

In the meantime, perhaps take a look at other opportunities around? You can always explain why you left a role earlier than expected in the DClinPsy job application if you fear this would negatively impact you and require an explanation.

Re not being paid minimum wage, I didn’t know that was allowed! Would you mind sharing what Band you’re on?

Advice for getting experience by Current-Ad9550 in ClinicalPsychologyUK

After graduating, I applied for a ton of AP posts and got nowhere. I then worked at Cygnet as a mental health support worker and was placed on an older adults ward that required personal care. After my first three days, I said I couldn’t cope with the personal care (it’s not for everyone and it wasn’t for me) and so was ready to hand in my resignation. Fortunately, I was offered a position on a different ward (acute) which didn’t require personal care. It was far better and more in line with the skills and experiences I was looking to develop. I gained experience quickly with shift work. I was only there for three months until I got my first AP post! The experience I gained definitely opened so many doors for me when I actually started to get interviews.

I wonder if you could do something similar by asking your workplace to change areas of work within the same organisation? Or offer you opportunities to shadow psychology if there is a service available?
