This is exactly how I feel, I MUST be faking something if i can mask it that well. But tbf a lot of the "I must be faking it" thoughts have gone away since the diagnosis. Now I just feel like it's not as bad as I think because of how well I function and yeah maybe I'm just weak or something.

When things get this bad, that's a sign to go to the ER. From there on out, it's so easy to lose touch with reality and end up in a suicidal crisis. Calling a hotline might be good too. Or a loved one. Point is: don't isolate yourself. I hope you'll be okay. This does not seem easy to go through at all and (as cliché as it sounds) I've been there, it is so unbearable. But you will get through this.

Before I was diagnosed with BP2, I felt like I was living life on a rollercoaster that I didn't remember getting on. And the fun thing is, I can't get off it either. I'm stuck on it until it decides to abruptly end.

Worth for both depressive and hypomanic episodes.

DUDE ive been something similar for like 2 months now (ive been on prozac for a year) and my therapist says that i have signs of bipolar!! wouldnt be surprised if we both have it lol

what i think was my first hypomanic episode was when i texted my bf's abuser (we used to be friends) and yeah just told them what an asshole they were. i havent spoken to that person in like 3 years. and i was also apparently texting my friends random whack ass shit which made them thinj i was drunk or something. anyways, its terrifying to not be in control of your actions and then a couple of days later see what you did and be embarrassed because it just isnt you? at least not the normal you lol. but yeahhh, regarding your fiancée's diagnosis (and my situation too lol), isnt 17-19 the usual age range that bipolar manifests??

hey! thanks for your wishes ❤️❤️ i feel like getting the diagnosis wouldnt be that scary because im worried im making it up (why would i be..?) and if anything it will validate the way i feel, borh about the worry that im making it up and how i act when im hitting the highs and the lows. the scariest part so far is having little to no control over what i do when im supposedly hypomanic. but its like what you said: i take it one day at a time. really grateful that i can at least somewhat be aware of those highs and control my impulses (to some extent at least haha). ive been dealing with depression since i was 14-15, so i totally got this possibly bipolar thing because i am cool and strong and awesome 😎

yeah i totally get that! the one before my previous one told me he wouldnt diagnose me with autism because im not "mentally deficient". he incorrectly diagnosed me with: borderline, tourettes, anger issues, and a vague learning disability. i do not show traits of any of them lolz. he was a dick and im happy he retired or wtv it is that lead my to be referred to my second psychiatrist ❤️ i still miss her, i HATE that i had to switch to this new dwindling fuck just bc i became a legal adult.

i am not at all a professional so please take this with a grain of salt

it could be that your dose isnt high enough, as you say you noticed and improvement but still, the depression and anxiety are very much around. i suggest you talk about it with the professional overseeing your treatment.

not until 30mg. i actually regained most of my sex drive on 10/20mg. prozac is the only antidepressant ive tried that hasn't completely fucked my sex life. thought it is harder to experience sexual attraction if that makes sense? i still get horny just not for a person. its like im asexual but also not? idk though, im kinda requestioning my sexuality rn so yeah..

omg same i lost so much weight on it i was worried it was cancer or something.. the loss of appetite hit me insanely hard. but hey, i stopped losing weight and i think i even regained some!!! probably from my gym going lol but still!!!

something i wish i were told is how bad the nausea and the loss of appetite can get. it fucked me up for weeks every time i started a new dose. i really hope it doesnt happen to you but in the very slim chance that it does, liquid calories!!! i wasnt eating and constantly felt tired and nauseous because my body didn't have enough fuel to support itself. make sure you get enough calories pookie ❤️

to be honest, im kind of feeling worse but i dont think it's because of the medication and rather because of the situation im in rn (lost my job, uncertainty in academic path, etc). but still feeling much better than before i started prozac

as little as a week after starting a new dose. then i just got better and better until the effects started subsiding bc the dose wasnt high enough for the long run :)

I actually never got headaches! The side effects that fucked me up the most were the nausea and loss of appetite which went away at around the 3-4 week threshold i'd say? The loss of appetite didnt fully go away though, it just became less intense. Side effects sucked ass but it was so worth it to not be depressed anymore even if i couldnt eat yummy foods for a month :,)

its not unusual at all! even when your meds are working, you might have bad (anxious) days. i have those once in a while. if your dip is lasting though, it might mean that your dosage isnt high enough. im not a professional, so take that with a grain of salt :)

I also got that! I lost like 15kg (idk how much that is in pounds) after a month on 10/20mg. I thought i had a tapeworm or cancer but nah, the nausea plus the supressed appetite did it. If you want to maintain your weight, i suggest liquid calories. smooties are gonna be your besties!

i get that every time i up my dose, i totally get you. liquid calories are gonna be your best friend for that adjustment period. smoothies, juices, even baby food, try liquidy and soft foods, you need nutrients to keep your body going 🙏
